Using the IR return designation on J Jones means that Coach T knows what's happening with Ike and is aware of his timetable of recovery.

Either it's not a season ending injury and we'll carry him on the roster (A-la Woodson / A Smith), or it means that Ike's season is over, which will put his career is in jeopardy.

Hope to know about it soon, and hoping to see him again on a Steelers uniform.

I can't see any scenario where he doesn't go to IR.

Ike is tough! I know it's highly highly unlikely but it wouldn't surprise me if he played with a cast on his arm.

I think Ike will go to IR. He could play with a cast in about 3-4 weeks, but it still could be painful to run with such an injury.
I guess it will be wait and see with swaggin.

I managed to make my forearm do the same thing and was out of a cast and back to something that resembled normal after 6 weeks.

They said on NFL Insiders that we were going to carry Ike on the active roster

I really hope he comes back, and really want to believe (as some are reporting) that it's a 6-8 week recovery period. Difficult to believe after seeing that picture.

But IMO what Coach T is really doing is send a message to his veterans with Ike's situation: He's not gonna let them down, and he's willing to use a roster spot for them even if they are not playing for extended time.

Since Sunday, he has sent at least 2 messages to those players: His twitter pic with Harrison (just read what he said) and Ike's situation.

Byron Leftwich broke his left forearm in a preseason game in 2011, and he missed the entire regular season on IR: I dont expect to see Ike playing again this year, Like Gronkowski when he broke his left forearm, he missed a lot of playing time and when he came back too soon he rebroke it, it takes a long time for a clean break to grow back together and when it does that break isnt ready for any heavy contact for a long time or the chance for it to break again is almost a certainty...

I don't buy the 6-8 week heal time, but I could see an 8-10 heal time, probably toward the 10. That is even if they put pins in the arm to hold it in place. This is a feasible recovery time. He may play in some pain, but maybe this will mean he will keep his hands off the other player when 30 yards down the field. :)
