I was part of the old board and am happy to have found this. I do wish it had been a bit sooner. So I also would like to thank anyone and all of them who put this together. If it was TTF all alone, I didn't mean to take anything from you.

TTF: do you have any guess of how many of us come from the old steelers.com forum?

    Welcome back home Dinochoppers!

A lot. In the days of the old boards last dying breath, TTF and some others here managed to get the word out that TTF made this place for us to go and a lot of people made the jump then. I recognize some of the old handles but some people made up new ones. Having trouble recalling dinochoppers, did you have a different handle on the old board, Dino?

I could never get into the old board. I read it but could never post. Being in Iowa you guys are my lifeblood for the Steelers outside of the national stuff. Great job and keep it up all of you!

Nope. It was the same one.. I felt that i didn't want to change it. There are a lot of names I recognize. I was kicked off the old one after posting a link for justin tv. so some of us who were blacked out could watch a game. I was "under review" for so long that i just gave up trying to log in. If during that time is when this began, it would make sense why I hadn't known anything at all. I definitely remember busman, ttf and del.

Good stuff, WWW. One comment. I agree that Antwon Blake is not the long-term answer, but he did seem to acquit himself pretty well the other night.

Welcome, dino! The old board was COMMUNIST!!!

Blake was there just needs to get his around quicker and bust things up. I didn't see foot speed as his problem.

Height is his problem though, he had no chance against Benjamin on that TD.

Exactly, he didn't even have to jump. Clearly outsized on that! Also, I did notice that it took 2-3 DB's to bring big Benjamin down.

He didn't need height to stick a hand in there to atleast try to punch it out, just saying.

    Thanks Boss! I appreciate it!

    Thanks SteelersRule6!

    Thanks Dobbler-33!

    Thanks JackAttack 5958!

    About Blake, look below.

    This:
Blake is a speedster, but not a cover guy. He has no instincts for the ball, at least not at NFL level. And, as you say, he can't cover a taller guy (most corners can't take advantage while covering a taller guy, but use their ball instincts to deflect the football). I'd think about an hybrid, and playing with 3 Safeties & 2 CBs instead of 3 CBs & 2 Safeties.
    Or try Richardson.

Remember we were playing against Carolina's receivers, which are not exactly a mix of Pro Bowlers.

    Great write-up!

And I too was a lurker on the old board during the run up to the draft every year, but was never allowed to post for some reason.

Benjamin has been making some really sick catches this year. Also, see how Dick does not rotate the CBs to specific receivers like Ike did a few years ago.

blake knows the defense better than webb or McCain at this point. webb is the farthest behind as far as playing in it. webb however may be the best of the 3 and has the most height. blake has the speed. McCain has the most field time as an NFL player. take your pick.

TTF, you da man chief. :applaud:
