Love it. Only thing better would be to have us picking last. Williams is too tall, though. :smiley1:

Yup, we only like the short corners!

Don't know anything about any prospects other than Melvin Gordon, but I'd be totally on board with a CB next year.

They will just draft another LB in the first round, then wait until the end of the draft to pick a CB.

i sure liked what i saw from the neuhiesel (sp?) kid from UCLA. he's a natural. cool customer. RS spoh. bens eventual replacement down the road. in a heartbeat. he's not even the starter for them. somebody missed the boat on that one. LOL;)

no and I'm not sure he was ever intended to be, but if he becomes a good backup down the road his draft status would be more justified I think. we will always need a backup and one that comes through the system from day one I hope is the way to go down the road.

if that coaches kid keeps it up though, I'd definitely take him. he's just one of those natural players that just gets it from the mental part to technique. like a 10 year vet. pretty darn impressive. if you get a chance watch him, and hope to heck NE doesn't get him.:smiley1::cool:

I thought I'd share some prospects to keep an eye on at positions I could see us drafting early next draft. Used CBS sports for heights and weights

    CB -
    Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (Oregon) 5'9'' 195
PJ Williams (Fla St) 6'0'' 196
    Josh Shaw (USC) 6'1'' 200
Trae Waynes (Mich St) 6'1'' 183
    Marcus Peters (Wash) 6'0'' 198
Ronald Darby (Fla St) 5'1'' 188

    TE -
Devin Funchess (Mich) 6'5'' 235 - I know he plays WR for mich, so idk why he was listed as
a TE prospect. Could be interesting to put 10-15 on him and play him at TE though
    Nick O'Leary (Fla St) 6'3'' 244
Jeff Heuerman (Ohio St) 6'5'' 255
    Tyler Kroft (Rutgers) 6'5'' 240

    OLB -
    Vic Beasley (Clemson) 6'2'' 235
Noah Spence (Ohio St) 6'3'' 255 - sidenote that he has been suspended for a second failed drug test for MDMA
    Shaq Thompson (Wash) 6'2'' 231
Benardrick McKinney (Miss St) 6'4'' 245

Darby is 5'1" he would fit in with the Steelers midgets at secondary :lolol:. I like PJ Williams he will probably be gone by the time we draft, just like this year when the 2 top CBs were gone. Olomu too small, Shaw got in trouble for lying to USC and injured himself. Peters I like he has good size, Spence no thanks 2 suspensions in college. Thompson is a playmaker, Beasley a little undersized McKinney could replace Worilds.

Is it too early to start thinking about the 2015 draft? This is looking like another non-playoff season.

I'm not crazy about what will be in this draft as far as corners. I'd sure like to see webb and Richardson make some strides before we draft one high this year as a reach. just seems like a weak class at DB overall.

There will be some decent one's to pick in the first round, that's why they should've drafted some corners in the last draft.

That just may happen with the way Worilds is playing.

If the line doesn't start protecting Ben better, QB may be an option.

Beasley is a stud. At OLB I like him best. I agree no way to Spence. Of the CB's I wouldn't mind Shaw or Waynes. Funchess would be an interesting pick, but I like Kroft at TE.

I can see us going OLB, CB, TE, NT in that order.

Worilds won't be back and neither will Ike Taylor. Cordez Allen stinks and heath might not be back either. We also might consider a Left Tackle. Beachum is just a stop gap.

The draft will be weak at the OLB position in 2015, cbssports had Vic Beasley and Shaq Thompson as the two best players and both are undersized in the 6'2 235 lbs range.

Cam Thomas should or would be cut at the end of the season. McClendon seems like he's injury prone and should be moved to DE. McClullers is to tall to play NT
