    The Steelers will be busy assembling the practice squad this afternoon. I'll update this post as the names are released. Josh Harris implies that he has been signed.

    No surprises? Alejandro Villanueva, who played as a DE for the summer with the Eagles, being signed as an OL is a bit of surprise.

    Could it be a typo with Villanueva,never heard of him playing OL.

    He was with the Eagles throughout camp until the first round of cuts. The Steelers had him in for a workout earlier this week. He played OT/DE/TE/WR at Army IIRC.

    Yeah forgot about him. I thought he was a DE now they have him listed as a OL, a bit of a project.

    He was converted to OT in his second season at Army and then was moved to WR his senior season. He is 6-9 285 lbs but will need a lot of work on his pass blocking skills since Army hardly ever passes the ball.

    It's good that Mauro, and Jones passed through waivers, I think we got some good players in those two. I also like josh Harris, he looked decent running the ball in the pre season. You never know these guys are always a injury away from suiting up.

    He's a pretty cool story. I hope he makes the transition over to the o-line, we got the best line coach in the nfl, hopefully it helps.

    This looks good. I wonder if Munchak is thinking he can mold Villanueva into an NFL left tackle with that wingspan and athleticism. We'll just need to have our training staff put him on the Hampton Diet (not to be confused with the Hamptons Diet).

    How many years has Ventrone been a PS guy. It been a couple right?

    Im interested in Goodwin in another year. I like his height and athleticism.

    Must be a pretty good athlete if Army moved him to WR. Why not try to convert him to TE???

    He's gained a lot of weight since then. I think I read he gained 40 lbs since spring.
