According to Vegas, the over/under for the Steelers this season is 8.5. Both Mike Greenberg and Chris Carter on ESPN Radio said "significantly under".

After our dress rehearsal game last night, I'm not so sure I disagree.

    Thoughts?

    8.5 sounds dead on. I figure 8 +/- 1

And it's not just a talent issue either. This team seems to have a hard time getting focused and staying focused all season long.

That's not really a line I'd be putting money on, but I think we win 9-10 games still with a wild card berth. Not going to overreact after one bad pre season game against a good team. We went 8-8 with last years team, and we upgraded a bunch of positions both starters and depth. Is it possible we win less than 8? Yeah. But, as long as we don't go 3-7 in games decided by 7 points or less (or get badly banged up with injuries), we should be at least the same as last year with a good chance of being better.

And who's job is it to get them focused and staying focused?

Do you think maybe some other teams have also upgraded?

I think I know what you are implying BUT
dont you think the players should take a lil responsibility of being focused
and staying focused if they cant do it in the NFL how are they ever going to be able to do it anywhere else

The players share in the responsibility, of course. But I look at the Head Coach as a maestro whose job it is to bring all of the instruments into a harmonious musical score to create a masterful symphony, or a master chef whose job it is to put together the ingredients prepared exactly the right way to create a 5 star meal. Just not sure Tomlin is that guy.

Yeah, of course. Some teams have downgraded too. Works both ways.

I took the over for $1,000 a few weeks ago and the steelers winning the super bowl this year for $1,000. I'm not worried about winning the over bet, I think they can handle that, and I don't get too worried about the SB bet because I'm always ready to risk some money if the risk/reward ratio is right and on the SB bet it was 35-1.

I would take the over I still like the roster this season over last season when they won 8 games. Their schedule isn't that hard either 10-6 is my prediction, although the loss to the Eagles raises some concerns.
