I wouldn't be surprised if this is a direct result of the way Seattle played defense this year. They admit to pushing the envelope as far as possible knowing that the refs won't call pass interference on every play.

Uh-oh. If the Ravens find out about this, they'll start throwing long bombs on every play just to draw pass interference calls!

This is bad news for a below average CB like Ike Taylor.

is it good news for above average cb's ? we know Richard Sherman would never grab anyone and interfere with them. ike is not below average by the way.

Yes Ike is the tape don't lie, he gave up 71 receptions last season and they pulled him off covering the opponents best WR. The difference for CBs like Sherman they can get ints.

It should be an interesting year
for our secondary. I hope they can play
as good as C Lake thinks they can?

I just hope we don't lose a good prospect for down the road, by having to keep a guy that's at the end of his career. ike, troy, will a.

34 yr old CB don't get better with age, I was hoping they drafted a CB in the first round and Ike would get benched.

I'm not president of Ike's fan club, and he absolutely needs replaced, but he is the type of player to outplay his age. He keeps his body in pristine condition, he's never missed much time with injuries, and he started with blazing speed, so he can afford to lose a couple steps (which he already has).

so what if ike can't cover the other teams number1 now? OK, let him cover the #2 guy. that's been the plan for a couple of years now, but cortez hasn't taken the spot so ike could go to the #2 guy. waiting on cortez to finally take it over this year. not ike's fault. be glad he's the kind of dedicated person and player he is and we still have him. he's far from below average though.

lol....only if he could catch the dang ball. However, Ike has had his ups and downs....I would still take him over a lot of DB's in the leauge. I think Ike is a top ten DB....I sure hope he plays a lot better this year tho...Lets go Ike T!!!!! Ball out your last year...

I think that's whats in his mind this year. he's playing to make them need him next year too. ike likes it here and likes playing here. he took this all personal and that means he works harder. he'll be back. maybe not in his prime but he's still pretty good. he's got a lot of respect for dan and I think he wants to get him another one before he goes.

I would love to see Ike finish up with the Steelers. Maybe he can learn how to play FS and extend his playing days, Like Rod Woodson did. Ike has the heart of a lion and he has all my respect as a player and a person. Looking for big things from him this year....

He use to be an excellent tackler,
that is why the Steelers have kept
him this long.Speed and tackling ability
    were his skill set.

Yeah, Ike's tackling abilities have always been above average. Now, he'll miss some here and there but overall he's ok. Also, I dont think this is Ike's last year....last year with Pitt, maybe...????

Ike had his problems last year, but the majority of them had nothing to do with a degradation of his physical skills. The majority of them came from poor safety play by RC and TP having to play linebacker due to the loss of Foote.

Nonsense. Thats the same hyperbole as Sanders cant catch, meanwhile he was top 5 with the surest hands last year. Ike missed some tackles so now he can't tackle. Tackling and speed has been his strengths.
