This has to be posted in the other thread about how Tomlin is putting FAs off...

I gotta say I'm impressed. Feels like a really good for for a big need. And certainly sounds like someone who wanted to play for the Steelers and Tomlin in particular. If this is the end of our free agency activity I would have to call it successful. Can't wait to see him in the black and gold this fall!

Only days after they announce "joint" practices "Blunt" signs. Coincidence?

He had 3 last year. Tied with Marshawn Lynch, Frank Gore, Stevan Ridley, and Adrian Peterson.

    Three points:
    1. Corner, running back, same difference;
    2. This moves the Steelers free agency grade up to a B-; AND
    3. How's this for a play on the name of our backfield: LeGarrette and LeVeon! Welcome to Le-Le Land linebackers! :dizzy:

Love it. This dude is a hammer looking for a nail. Who cares about him in the passing game as he won't be asked to do much of it. If Bell goes down Ben has no problem ignoring RBs in the passing game.

So what's the story on this guy, I know initially he had some off the field stuff, he had a really good rookie year, but he gets kicked around to other teams. He probably could be a #1 somewhere so why come here, so what's the deal???

    1) Mel was a Safety

    2) More like an A

    3) All they need now is Pepe LePew for their 3rd back.

It would be pretty cool if he wore #47.

    Blount 155 touches
    Lynch 337 touches
    Gore 292 touches
    Peterson 308 touches
    Ridley 188 touches

Couple of these guys don't look like the others.

Now, I could care less. He is a backup runner for us as Bell will still be the man. They will find a role for him, or else he will make trouble, but the fumbles stats of the guys you mentioned don't exactly match up. He will be very good here for us, IMO.

    I really like the signing.

first off i am impressed.. we actually got a FA that other team (s) wanted so that was nice to see... as i said i had the FA season so far at a c- grade... as i said IF we signed MJD or blount i would consider it a c+ (gained a bit more then we lost) .. my question is we picked up a player that was with 3 teams in 3/4 seasons and wonder why? sure wasnt money... fumbles ? maybe.. off field issues? possibly....so i think there may be a red flag (s) but i still think it was a good signing and could be a GREAT signing IF ray rice misses time and we kept the ravens from getting him.. good signing

Very true. I was just dropping popular names of other guys with 3 fumbles. :smiley1:

Its a good signing but hes just going to fill the same roll Dwyer did, maybe a little more expanded then that.

From some of these posts, I think people are expecting a bigger roll from him, Bell will still get most of the touches, as well he should.

Of course he was a CB.
 (don't know WTF I was thinking).
Nothing to see here. Move along. Nothing to see.
