Yup looks like Big Red to me too!

And if it is him...doesn't mean he was on roids/etc...he just doesnt have to be a 300+ lb linemen anymore.

Yea I was thinking the same thing. Hes not on a linemans diet any more, and probably doesnt live in a weight room any more either.

On a side note, my best friend from high school got a full ride to Colgate to be a OL for them. He left after senior year at 245lbs, came back weighing 310. Now that he has been out of football for 2 years, he's down to 225. He never did roids.

Alan never failed a steroid test in his entire career, besides he has epilepsy so, if he wants to be around to see his kids grow up he needed to lose that 100 plus pounds to do it, epilepsy and steroids dont mix..

A lot of linemen lose a pile of weight after they're done playing... Nothing new here.

I seem to recall a similar post on the old board after Hartings retired and dropped his playing weight.

    Good for him.

Im always glad to see players lose weight after football. Long term it just isn't healthy to be as big as they are. Chris Hoke too. Thats guy has lost a ton of weight.

Indeed, the article that accompanied this picture quoted Faneca as saying he is no longer on the diets he used to be on and that he has lost over 100 lbs since his playing days. My steroids comment was not meant to suggest anything wrong with Faneca taking steroids, if he did. I wasn't trying to be critical. I was merely pointing out that it's part of the culture. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Faneca used some form of PEDs, and I wouldn't blame him, either. At the same time, his new appearance suggests that these men are doing a lot of harm to themselves for...OUR entertainment?

    Wow! Talk about a transformation!

I can see it now. He'll be ta one of his kid's b-day parties, or out at the local watering hole. He'll meet someone and they'll ask him what he does. He'll answer and maybe drop that "I used to be an offensive guard in the NFL."

They'll look him up and down and say "riiiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhhht." :lolol:

But good for him. He probably added 10-20 years to his life span. (His knees are no doubt thankful as well)

To my knowledge Faneca has never been tested positive for Seroids has he? So what's the purpose of starting a thread accusing him of that? Weak!

That's nothing! Have you seen Leon Searcy since he retired? Here's some video footage with his mom.

Just curious what you are basing your steroid comments on. Do you have any credible sources? There are healthy supplements out there that are effective and legal that don't come with the same negative consequences of steroids. To lump everyone into the same general category and call it the culture may not be fair.
