Why not take this guy in the 6th or 7th round? Risk/reward

I'm guessing teams called him and he stuck to his guns about refusing to sign and entering the 2016 draft.

He can't enter the NFL draft the NFL already said. He also can't go to the supplemental draft. If he is undrafted, the NFL has said he will be a free agent and not available for any future draft.

I've thought about that too. "If you're innocent, you have nothing to lose and A LOT to gain...!"

Dunno about salary, but their signing bonus isn't capped. UDFAs often get more signing money than 7th round picks.

Signing bonus is essentially capped. Teams are only allowed to spend somewhere in the realm of $90K on signing bonuses for UDFA's. That's why so many have a SB of around $8K. Salary guarantees, however, are not capped. A team could lure him with a big salary.

Yes it was something you said. UDFA sign for league min for 3 years . Than a post or 2 latter said....Salaries, however, are not capped. A team could lure him with a big salary.?????

Right. UDFA contracts are for 3 years. Teams hands are somewhat tied when it comes to cash signing bonuses, but there aren't any restrictions on the size of the salary.

Right, guaranteed salary. Of course UDFA's salaries are capped. They can be extended after the 2nd year. Had a little too much of post-draft, pre-fight celebratory libation last night.

If he is cleared do you think the Steelers would give him an offer?

They can' be totally satisfied at Tackle right? Not after the way both of them got manhandled against the Ravens.

They didn't draft one so I don't know?

Maybe Munch wants one more year trying to turn around Adams.

I had read somewhere his bonus was limited to 90k but his salary was not limited because he is a undrafted FA.

ALSO, the Steelers need to go after him, seriously!!!!

No team is going to touch this guy for awhile, he could be another Rae Carruth.

I say if everything works out for the guy with this issue (as they've said they are just questioning him/etc and hes not a suspect yet)...I would reach out to him...why not?

He could be Fosters replacement next year. The league already said he cant join the 2016 draft or the supplemental draft...and I think he only hurt himself by saying the whole he'd refuse to sign a deal if not drafted by day 2 and such.

While he may not get a big money initial contract he could at least sign with a winner and earn that money!
