I feel most of the "waiting list for 20 years" is a half truth. Unless you REALLY plan and desire to go to every home game, it's a big waste of money. When I had season tickets, it was more of a burden than a luxury but we are all different. I find it liberating to simply scalp when I lived in WPA. That way, no pressure to sell tickets that I wasn't using. Yes, there will be instances where you pay more for some games, but in the long run, you are money ahead by just scalping at the games that you really want to go to. I have often paid at or less than face value. Don't buy into that "20 year waiting list" BS.

#1 - where are the seats located? If they're section 504 row ZZ I'd run the other way

#2 - I'm gonna guess you just got your tax return ;)

It's a lot of money. I have 2 in the club section. I don't smoke, use drugs or have a mistress. May as well blow it on the steelers.

I declined to purchase the South end zone seats for $4k each. Been on the list for many years (>15 years). Would consider it for better seats, but didn't want to spend the $10k for those.

I agree it isn't really an investment more an emotional attachment and having an incentive/plan to see my bro more often.

That's what I was thinking. If you have the means to do so, they're not a bad investment for something that can give you so much enjoyment.

If you are refering to a means to sell them, that can be done easily through your Steelers account when you login. Kind of like StubHub.

This will give you a good idea of what is out there and current asking prices:

    https://steelers.strmarketplace.com/Seat-Licenses/Seat-Licenses.aspx

2 seats, same row and section are currently listed at $12,000 asking price. Seats 7&8. They may be the same seats you are talking about. Look around the web site for comparisons.

Sorry, I meant the means to make the investment. Great info, regardless.

Wow, a lot better than I would've thought. If I had the cash in-hand and had nothing else to do with it, I would probably consider it based on the location

I understand...last year I stopped watching games on TV because I would get so angry at every play. I love my Steelers, but it is hard to watch when you are so invested. I will try again this year.

    I mostly agree with this.

To people who don't have tickets it sounds blasphemous but after having tickets for several years, it can become a burden. 8 regular season games is A LOT and takes A LOT of energy (if you do it right and make a whole day of it ;)). At this point in my life, I'd rather watch on TV and hit 2 or 3 games a year. Thats plenty.

    East or West?

Even though they're not my seats, I've been in East a lot the past several years.

that's what I am thinking as a investment. we go four to five games sell the rest. we spend 2 to 3 grand per year now on tickets and motels.

You need to be realistic when selling your tickets. Don't think that you are going to get much beyond face value for them. Especially if you wait. I'd suggest figuring out which ones that you want and which ones you want to sell and advertise them ASAP. The closer you get to the game, the harder it will be to get rid of them and you will be stuck holding the proverbial 'hot potato.'

West. Love em. Front row, end of the row. Long story but I think Dan Rooney hand picked them.
