I posted on this a couple weeks ago. While I can't link it, the nets starting to buzz. James is undecided between home and Tennessee. Filming his boys with the same question. Said he's gonna pray on it. We shall see. Would love to have him back, as he showed us he can still play last season. But his tank is running low. Best of luck either way you go James.

I have to think the Steelers are still the front runners because as they pointed out in another thread the Titans seemed to have used free agency to stockpile their defense. I would also add why would you play one more year on a team that is in obvious rebuild (titans) when you have a team that has a better shot at the playoffs(Steelers) Of course what do I know? the Titans winning the South could happen. Shayeah riiiight (wayne's world references abound today)

    Thanks TTF!

and Thorn, I agree it would seem a no BRAINER honestly... But in today's league you just never know. I'd like to have James back to spell in whatever fashion a la Brett's situation last year and if he becomes the best option once again as did broth and Brett
then you just ride with it. He fits, not for long and we know that but gotta patch it how you gotta.

i think he is trying to rise the salary as more as he can .. i would give him a contract like 1,3 milion plus incentives like 100k a sack

Does he have an offer from either team? If not, then he isn't really deciding anything.

My guess is Tennessee made an offer. Pittsburgh has not as they should. They should treat this as they properly did last year. He is trying to force the steelers to make an offer now. They should not and will not. IMHO

Not many LBs have played effectively at age 37. You can probably count them on one hand and have fingers left over.

why not ? depends on the offer probably tenesse mad an offer near the vet minumum , since they are already spent on two olb , we are not in the same position since we have no proven pass rusher at the moment , we need harrison we just don't need to overpay him

At this point in his (post retirement) career, why would he even think about going somewhere else? Didn't work out the greatest in Cincy. Wait it out, James. The Steelers will probably come calling later.

He played bluff once before and lost. They surely won't blink now. No reason to tie up a roster slot now on a guy you don't need to. He doesn't need mini camp or traing camp. See what we get in the draft. See what we get in FA once camp cuts start. Then if he is the best option, sign him. But I don't see the sense in tying up a roster spot before needed?

are you so sure than jones moats and the draft pick will be enough ? to me we need him anyway . start him at right jones or moats on the left and let the draft pick learn from harrison backing him up . of course depends how much harrison is asking , i suppose is near one milion ,one milion and half . if he ask more than i would wait

I agree, I understand that there is no rush and its not likely he will go play anywhere else but its also not likely somebody better will become available.

Absolutely, he came through for them last season.

I don't think this organization want to make the same mistake that they did last year. I think last year was the first time I've ever seen the steelers panic in the off season. I mean they brought in Heyward bay, moore, and thomas. The reason I didn't mention blount, mitchell, or moats is because these 3 provided production...Although we got suckered punched by blount...that was a good fa pickup. So, I think we will wait until after the Draft to address debo, troy, and cb situation.

They best address the CB situation in the draft. The Steelers are not going to sign James now. They will wait till after the draft and the June 1st cuts. If he comes back he should be used as a situational pass rusher. This Defense will probably be one of the youngest in the league and I can't wait to see what Butler can do. If James is available still and can help sign him. Time will tell.

Yeah if what I saw was right as of right now the projected age of the starters on defense is 26.8 and that could go down depending on if they get a starter out of the draft. Dare I say we are too young now.

Well, I like having him back. Whether or not it was a good signing depends on the dollars. We'll see.
