Pitt/ NE rumor

With all this NE love fest, going on i thought i would start another thread. The rumor IS the Steelers will open the Season at NE. my ? is is this a good thing,do we realy want to open the season with a chance with a loss? given we dont have a very good record there.? I believe if our D improves , and Ben Stays healthy nxt season we could go 13-3/ 14-2.. for the season.. I just don't like the idea of playing the first game of the season at NE... . just so the NFL can boost there rateings.

 

That's one thing we have going for us they have no clue how Butler is going to game plan. They have no "tape" on him.

 

we may be bell-less too. I think getting them right out of the gate could be a good thing. didn't they stumble out of the gate this past year?

 

not that the rest of the schedule is a lot easier too

 

That's what I've said about Butler also. I read the other day that we might start against them. The thing that will REALLY suck is that if Bell gets suspended we're gonna be really hurting in this game. If we could control the ball on the ground and kill the clock we could beat them but the more chances we give Brady the closer we will probably be to losing. Even though we have Butler now I still expect some growing pains and who better to expoit the kinks than Brady? I probably would rather play them first than the rats though honestly.

 

Yeah we have to play the Hawks too. Although I think if we utilize the pats gameplan against them we can beat them.

Yes, they did. Didn't hit their stride until about the final 3rd of the season.

Other than the Ravens, there is no other team that I want to play opening day. Set the tone for the season right off the bat. Kill or be killed, essentially. It's almost win-win. Win and we have some great confidence. Lose and, well, it's the Pats at home and we're supposed to lose.

 

Sea is gona get raveged in free agency this year.. IMO not gona be as strong as a team nxt year

 

Yeah but some will doubt whether Ben will study it. LOL. I say if we do short quick passes to Bell and AB we can beat them. Plus Lynch might not be there as well.

 

If we can get to him it would be nice. I just don't know that we have anybody fast enough to do it. I think our offense can match up well with their defense though.

 

Bell may be suspended, no?

 

That's kinda what I'm figuring. It wouldn't surprise me at least.

 

We're talking about the Steelers: Playing Tampa Bay, the Titans, or Raiders first would be reason for concern...

I'd rather get NE out of the way in week 1..... no sense in dragging it on. Let's just see in game 1 exactly how much work the team will need for the season.

 

Yeah but, the Stillers usually don't start showing up until the second half of the season.

100%... Lets see where we stand week 1 with or without Bell. Lets go into Foxborough week 1 and set the tone!!....I like it!!

Sounds good to me. When I don't want to play there is the postseason.

 

Too bad we don't have an extended period of time to fix the backup RB problem before our next game.
