Or are some players really this detached from reality?

Sure Ike ... no one notices you getting beat like a Saudi slave girl. It's one thing to have a short memory, but Ike seems to have developed amnesia.

And a switch to safety? Maybe 5 years ago. Horrible hands, soft hitting, and slow, is on no one's wish list.

Not really sure he can help as a safety in run support either....

He wants to play and physically he's not really banged up. It's time for him to move on from the Steelers though. The young guys have to shine or fall flat.

Beyond the money, players don't want to leave the football life behind. It has been said that fame is one of the most addicting things there is.

Well if Ike sticks around he will absolutely be more famous than he is. Guys like Torrey Smith, AJ Green, Sanu, and who knows who else will make him really famous.

If he is a starter next season I will probably end up throwing the remote through a wall.

You should plan on getting a new remote and some plaster then. There is no way they are not starting Ike next season.

Dick LeBeau is gone so I don't think Ike is on the team unless our CB's get hit with the injury bug.

There is no way the Steelers are paying Ike $2,750,000 to not start. If they cut him then that's one thing but if he is on the roster. He's starting without a shadow of a doubt.

On another note. What did the Steelers ever see in Cortez Allen to sign him to a $24,600,000 contract?

He hinted strongly that he will be in AZ a few weeks ago on NFL Network and Heath Evans was sitting right beside him and said he was betting he'd be in AZ next year and Ike just sorta slyly smiled. I really don't expect him to be on the team. I think he will probably be released.

He won't be on the team. They realize he is done.

I am not so sure ? Could he play better than Mitchelle ? Would he be cheaper than him ?

IMO he might be a good FS for a few seasons, we will see .

You never heard of a player getting old, but still wanting to play?

Ike knows his time is pretty much done (especially at cb).... that's why he says he's willing to switch positions in order to keep playing.. when has anyone heard that type of talk from him before

"My cleats are always ready to put on. I've been fortunate enough with Pittsburgh. Just because Pittsburgh may not feel like I can do it doesn't feel like somebody else might think I can do it," said Taylor.
    :-D

Ike, sorry to tell you this but the last couple of years has revealed pretty clearly that YOU CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE!

I appreciate Ike's contribution to the Steelers over the years but it would surprise me if anyone wanted to sign him after they study his game film over the last couple of seasons. But I'll give him this, for somebody that had the poor ball skills that Ike had he did get the most out of his talent. Good cover guy and not afraid to lay a lick on you, just couldn't catch and terrible at adjusting to the ball.

I'd sooner sign Sean Taylor than Ike Taylor to play safety.

Beating slaves and murder victims in the same thread about a CB saying he's willing to switch to safety. You are definitely stretching a long way to pull those down. Something you need to get off your chest in a different forum?

Troy might still be able to play if he was 10 lbs lighter.

Not buying it, Troy is done they can't afford to pay him 5-6 million and he's not producing. Last season he had no ints or sacks that's not acceptable.
