Man this game against the Chiefs is shaping up to be huge w/the winner having a great shot for the playoffs (Steelers will be in w/a victory) and loser really needing help.

The downer for the Steelers is if they lose this game to KC and Cincinnati wins it really throws a wrench into their playoff hopes because Cincy would be in and even Pittsburgh defeating them the last game of the season would not get them in unless San Diego would upset the Chiefs in KC in that last game. This is pretty much a must win game.

Much more likely that Cincy loses to Denver than Steelers losing to KC or at worst, both lose.

No, there are other scenarios that play in the Steelers favor if they should lose to KC.

I was under the impression that if we win one of last two we were in? is that wrong? I want both though

I agree, but I got a feeling Cincinnati is finally going to show up for a prime time game, not sure they will win against Denver, but I think they have a shot. I hope Peyton's thigh is healthy. Cincinnati has had some troubles against the run this year and in generating a pass rush so I think Manning can certainly get points and Denver's defense is playing pretty good right now. T

he crazy thing is if Pittsburgh wins on Sunday I would almost root for the Bengals against Denver because then that last game is with the division on the line for both teams and though I am not a Bengal fan I could stomach it a little more with them winning the division as opposed to the Rats.

Yeah but I think they look pretty thin. Baltimore is very likely to go 11-5, they could lose a game but I doubt it. So the only scenario I see where the Steelers get in if they lose to KC and then beat Cincinnati is Baltimore losing one game (doubtful) or Cincinnati losing to Denver (and then us, more probable).

If we lose to KC at home, we do not deserve to be in the playoffs.

Given that they're one of the other contenders for a play off position, it makes sense that we should be better than them in order to qualify ahead of them.

But in reality whoever makes it in deserves to be in. Making the play offs is as much a numbers game with other results and divisions playing a part. It's not simply the best teams in.

I don't like talking about 'deserving' to be in the play offs, while the NFC South is in existence.

I think if we beat the Chiefs, we are at least assured a wild card spot.

If the Steelers win this week, they're in. If the Steelers lose this week, they can get in with a win next week AND:

A Baltimore loss in either week 16 or 17
A Cincinnati loss in week 16
A KC loss in week 17

And there is still one scenario where the Steelers can get in, even losing both remaining games.

That makes them a lock to beat the Steelers this week. Another "first" by another team against us.

They should be reminded daily right up to kick off that the reason they missd the playoffs last year is becasue they relied upon a Chiefs team to help them and should avoid all repeat scenario's that would have to have them rely upon those same possible circumstances.

    Win and they are in.......

Lose and it's possible deja vu.

Now go out and kick some a**.

If we win, we're in.... if kc loses they're out... we're both fighting for our postseason lives... there will be no let down.... expect a knock down drag out fight from start to finish

I believe KC can lose this week, and still get in with some help and a win next week.

How ironic it would be if it came down to relying on another teams field goal kicker to pull out a win for them to advance.

No game is a gimmie for any NFL team but I feel much better when the Steelers go up against solid competition, as weird as that sounds.
