no...because I seriously don't believe he is the whole problem. he isn't dropping passes and he isn't blocking. these guys are professionals. players play and coaches coach. I believe the coaches had the players in the right situations to win sunday. Antonio dropped a sure td. bell whiffed on a blitz pickup. the defense was playing lazy and showing poor technique.

if they showed poor technique every game, then blame coach. but everyone was saying we played the best game we played in years last week. I think the players thought they could show up and win. I know enough former players to know that players win games. the rah rah stuff don't work in nfl. anyone who watched that game sunday knows that the offense didn't execute. I don't think play calling was to blame. we had open wrs and didn't take advantage.jmo

No. I think Tomlin is secure at least for a few more seasons unless the bottom falls out.

Depends. If we miss the playoffs at 9-7 probably not. If we miss the playoffs at 5-11 or 6-10, I think Rooney should seriously consider it. If we go into a tailspin and Tomlin loses this team, time for a change.

Firing coaches mid-season is good for a couple of wins early on IF the players are behind the change but a new coach won't change the Steelers biggest weakness and that is talent on the defensive side of the ball. A change at the end of the season probably wouldn't help much either; it's going to take a while to re-stock a weak roster as happened to the offense under Cowher circa 1998-2000. Part of the 15 yard penalties on defense is players who aren't good enough over-compensating .ie Polamalu who can't get from A to B like he used to. The Pats looked like an unorganized mess last night with no blocking or defense whatsoever. Did Belichick suddenly become a bad coach? Nope. The talent stinks. Same here.

There is reason to feel that way, but this season is a book and there are still 12 chapters (hopefully more) yet to be written. I just hope we're in for a happy ending.

I got my fingers crossed, and I had/have verry high hopes for this season. B ut after seeing how we are playing these first 4 weeks. A and watching some of the players interviews after a game, I think many of the the players might not be sold on Tomlin..

It's not even about missing the playoffs, it's about the fact that players don't respect him nor take him serious, and it's going to continue to snowball

If we miss out on the playoffs for 3 straight years, then MT has failed to uphold the Steeler standard and it will be time for the next man up. I don't want to waste the last few years of Ben's career.

A regime change and culture change could serve this team well. Look what happened in SF. Harbaugh took over for Singletary and with literally the same team, he had them immediately competitive.

Would you rather us congratulate him on another lousy start to the season with this very undiciplined roster? Bury your head in the sand all you want but this team has a ton of talent that seems to continually shoot themselves in the foot.

I understand where you are coming from, but 40 years of Steelers coaching history indicate the Rooneys are not quick to make changes.

Depends on how the season plays out. Just missing the playoffs at 9-10 wins? Even 8-8? I doubt it. Another 8-8 and I'll be calling for his head of course. :) But it won't happen.

But if the rails come off? Say something as horrible as a 5-6 win season? I'll be shocked if they don't clean house.

IF we don't make the playoffs this year does Haley go? I HIGHLY doubt it and really hope not. If Munchak can fix our line I really think Haley's system is gonna make our offense a great one. It's so odd how for years we have thought "if only" we had a better offense and now we finally do and now we are saying "if only" we had a better defense. You can't have it all I guess.

    I don't think it's that simple.

Not all losses/wins are equal. The Steelers could lose 21-17 to Cincy, 31-28 to Denver, and 30-37 to Atlanta, and I'd feel better about than beating Jax 10-7, Buffalo 14-13, and Oakland 24-23.

We all know the old adage: "It's not whether you win or lose that matters, but how you play the game." To me, it isn't just all about Ws and Ls. It's about what the team on the field is doing. And far too often, over the past few seasons, the team has come out and looked sloppy, undisciplined, and unfocused.

Can't come fast enough, but we all know that we are usually 2 years late in doing things. Big question. What about Colbert? These 2 brought in the players that you see.Its looking like another Cowher- Donohoe thing.
Who is the bigger ass kisser?

Honest question to the guys who voted "no." Just curious, how long would you go before your vote changed to yes?
