Because you need more than two proven receivers, they lost three to free agency, also you have to plan for injuries at the position.
He's durable, and good enough to get 80-90 tackles a year.
They might need two receivers, I doubt they will pick defense with the first three picks.

I'm surprised Edmunds hasn't gotten any offers from other teams, he's not great, but he's still a starting safety in the NFL.
He has played three years, and now he wants a new contract, the Cardinals should tell him to just deal with it.
