Dotson was going into the last year of his contract, his inconsistent play wasn't deserving of a second contract.
And I wouldn't be surprised if Washington replaced him as the starter next season.
And the Steelers were winning and in the playoff hunt when Pickett was healthy, I'm not impressed by Howell's stats, him team stinks.
I would bet a lot of his stats come in garbage time, Washington is often trailing in games.

All of those dumb penalties are on Dotson, not the OL coach no matter what side Dotson played on.
Howell has 19 TDs and 15 interceptions that is not outstanding play, he also has been sacked more than any other QB.
How is that Washington offense doing, they benched Sam Howell in their last game :shrug:?

Too many dumb penalties by Dotson on the Steelers, good for him if he's doing well with the Rams.
They need TJ and Highsmith to dominate, that's probably their only chance to win.
