They did try to play zone and man they also tried to blitz it just didn't work, Flacco was getting rid of the ball too quick.
Maybe those penalties caused the Steelers to play zone.
That strategy only works when you need a FG to win like the Bengals did when Higgins slid down.

I expected more from the DL sacks from the OLBs can be hit or miss, but the Bengals OL isn't good except for Benton's sack the DL did nothing.
The whole AFC North is terrible in road games on TNF.
Thay have moved Watt around some this season he's still not getting the sacks, Watt was getting chipped at times but Highsmith and Herbig did...

If the pass rush sucks like they did against the Bengals I don't think the coverage matters.
That first interception was a terrible decision by Rodgers the running game was working why get greedy there, Metcalf was never open on that play...
That's a ridiculous hypothetical statement saying Pickens catches that ball there were two defenders covering Metcalf on that sideline interception.
Having to play on TNF on the road had to be a factor when the whole defense stinks in the game.
I didn't know Pickens played defense; the offense scored 31 points that's enough points to win this loss is on the defense.
