Much of the running game comes down to blocking. From what I saw last week, Mendenhall wouldn't have helped much.

I would say yes. At his age, with his injuries he has to be mostly a pocket QB and that has never been his game.

Ben is a 'playground QB.' He's a very good one but he cannot consistently run a conventional offense.
