    Early social media

    It eventually fizzled out

I lost a bunch of cowrie shells on that investment

I'm all for the players getting as much as they can so I'm not going to complain if he gets $18, but if im in the Steelers front Office it may be a very low full guaranteed number like 90 mil over 5 with 21 fully guaranteed if I'm going to sign him to 18 mil a year. If he agrees to the $14 I would be willing to make a lot more fully guaranteed like 70 mil, 42 fully guaranteed.

I'm just a lil concerned that they are going to help drive up a player market with a player that probably shouldnt be the trendsetter for the market... like the Jaguars did with Kirk (altho I believe Minkah is a much better player at his position then Kirk is at his). Btw, its prob illegal but the rest of the owners need to collude and make sure the WR market doesnt get out of hand just because one dumb owner signed off on a bad deal.

Having two players on the same defense who are the highest paid at their position is a little scary. Then again, if you're not paying a top QB for the next 5 years, you might as well pay the man.

I have a bunch of them in vinyl

    Saw them live twice

I thought my very large ornery buddy was going to kill the 14 year old girl sitting in front of us who started booing the Nights in white satin encore

The franchise tag for WR this year was over 18 million. Next year it will be quite a bit higher based on the huge contracts given out. I like him, but that's a huge number for someone who has nice numbers, but has not really been an impact player.

 I would have helped him.

I've seen them probably 15 times as a group starting in 1968 and then lead guy Justin Hayward 3 times in past 6-8 years at very small venues in LA area. Have every album on vinyl and nearly every one on CD with a couple old cassettes scattered about. To say I'm a big fan is an understatement. In more recent times they brought in a female flute player who could run circles around old Ray Thomas and much better to watch.

Minkah led the team in tackles I think, the splash plays were down, but he had to cover for the sorry ILBs.

It took until September to get T J done

But with Colbert retiring they may try to get this done rather than gamble with the new guy

I don't believe he's a number one either, but i do believe he's easily a level above Christian Kirk who is getting 18 so if they can sign him for 18 than they better to do it, because it's not going to go down any like you mentioned and that 18 is going to be considered a bargain for a receiver of his talents. With Devante getting $28.25 and Tyreek getting 30, you most definitely better jump on Diontae at $18. The only other alternative is if they somehow draft Jameson Williams or one of these other stud receivers coming out and they light it up and then you can move on from Diontae like they did Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders and others. They have to draft somebody in that that Jamar Chase ilk though...it cant be another Diontae Johnson.

What? Your kidding right? I know the dropped passes linger before any positive but he is our #1. Maybe to some he isn't and I won't argue but not an impact player? Common.

Impact player is someone who literally can take control of a drive and even a game. AB was fir us in his prime, Kupp shows this, Devante Adams, a couple of others. I like DJ a lot, I believe his work ethic is superb, but at this point yes our best receiver, but not one who I would say is an impact player.

No argument, the tag is based on the 5 top contracts for that year. If the tag for WR is 18 mill plus this year, it's likely to be much more next year..and with that tag agents usually use that as a starting point.

The media says they're close to finalizing a deal.

The media says talks haven't even started yet.

I know i may be going against the fans opinions here. Is Safety really that important on winning franchises. Who played safety for the rams last year. They are nice to have but really dont equal wins. A amazing QB, awesome WRS, d-line that is not swiss cheese and a not horrific o line like we had last year wins games. Dont sign Badger from Chiefs and dont extend Minka. Go get what wins in the league. Tank next year and get a QB who can be elite the year after. Get a d-lineman to stop the gapping holes every team ran through if you want to get team better or a middle linebacker who is not a stiff like Bush and can actually read and tackle.

Agree you need cornerstones to the defense and the two players you mentioned should be it.

Add Cam who's the heart and soul of this defense but one wonders how many years does he have left at the top of his game. He's been impressive nonetheless.
