And if reports are true, would make him the highest paid safety in the league.

I don't believe it. The Steelers don't work extensions right before a draft.

Knowing if they will have Minkah locked up or not will help them with their draft strategy.

It could also free up a few dollars for signing another free agent, or for that Top 5 draft spot contract we may need to pay Willis.

I hope they can get it done, and it is a win win for both sides. As Lamberts Dentist points
out this is usually not how the Steelers work their contracts. But hey, they reworked AB's contract
several times which for them was out of the ordinary. In my over 50 years of watching them
they hardly ever rework contracts this time of year. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't prevent us from improving
in much needed other area's of need? We need to knock it out of the ball park in this draft.

Pay the man and have him and Watt lead this defense for the next half decade!

I hope this report is correct and this deal gets done soon. We don’t want a situation like last year where they have a star player holding-in throughout camp.

I dont see how the draft is that relevant in this case, they were always going to pay him, just get it done IMO.

Great. Get it done. It may also lower his cap hit this year allowing for one more FA.

Until the ink is on the contract it’s just a nice story from someone who has been wrong before

Jamal Adams get $17.5 million. Minka will get $18.

I haven't really heard this rumor but that isn't saying much.
I would give him the contract and as some have said, free up some space to get a little additional help.
They are kind of setting up the draft rather nicely.
QB still scares me, but there's no fun in a no-risk/no-thrills ride.
    Hope it all works out.

It would be great to get Fitzpatrick done before the draft but not necessary. He is worth the coin and will lower the cap amount which could land a FA or free space to sign Johnson.

Some reports are saying to wait on Johnson. They could and franchise him next season then sign if they can't come to terms.

How you gonna be the highest paid safety and dont even make the Pro-Bowl much less first or second team All- Pro?? That's crazy talk....$14 and incentivize to the $18.

That was Watt. Big difference in what the player was being a game changer on.... No offense to minkah

I wouldn't do incentive with game wins. Only would be interceptions, tackles, pro bowl.

He's made first team all pro twice in three years. Adams has one first and one second team.

Both are mid 20's, both could kick some ass for 5 more years.
