Mike Wallace cost us 7 points tonight!

Wallace's fumble and failure to get two feet down cost us 7 points. I realize the fumble was early but it GAVE the Ratbirds their margin of victory. We definitely had the momentum there and if we could have gone up 14-0 or even 10-0 I don't believe the Rats could have come back from that. His failure to get both feet down cost us 4 points there. Essentially, Wallace cost us 7 points tonight which would have been enough to win the game. Maybe he was too busy thinking about his upcoming huge payday to have his head in the game.

It didn't matter. Charlie couldn't have gotten the ball there either even healthy and fresh. Batch is so injury prone, he throws out his shoulder while he is brushing his teeth. Charlie wouldn't have lasted one series out there against that pass rush.

He thinks Byron's performance was gritty.
I say detrimental to teams progress

Charlie Batch wouldn't have fared any better. Heck, we may not even score that first TD if Batch was in there. Lefty was making most of his throws; what else can we expect from our backup QB?

The season is basically on the line. Tomlin is held accountable regardless of what YOU think! Bye Bye divison! We HAD to win tonight to split, but no, Tomlin wouldn't pull the trigger on Batch and if Leftwich said he was fine, did you see the NBC replays.....it's clear that he wasn't! Burned two timeouts for WHAT??????????????????????

I still support that Lefty should have started, but once it became obvious how injured he was like around halftime, Batch should have been in. Not to mention Dwyer should have had twice as many carries.

AND when are we going to bench Wallace? His performance has been awful!

Agree 100% about the points cost. No argument here. Wondering where your threads are for all the other times players cost us points, since that happens every week...

Did the coaches give up that punt return for a TD? If so then yes its SOLELY on them. They do get some blame for some of the calls/things that happened. But the game was not solely lost by them.

Amen. I don't believe people watched the entire game if they are crying for Leftwich's head.

If any player costs us points that loses the game for us, I will be happy to point it out. I am MORE THAN HAPPY to point it out when an over-rated, egotistical diva of a WR costs us points that loses the game for us.

Having an OC that calls plays like he's playing Madden 95 cost us. 27 running plays out of 68 plays with a QB that was obviously hurt from falling into the endzone in the 1st minute of the game cost us the game. Dwyer was effective when used but Haley couldn't help himself by calling passing plays over and over again when running plays would have been better. I bet Leftwich has a sprained shoulder he and the coaching staff ignored.

Watch tomorrow night's monday night game with probably two backup QB's and you tell me if a backup QB can get the job done!

I don't think Wallace's head is in the game.....if he did not have the body of work he has....people would be calling for him to be cut and asking if he is a bust based on his play this year.

Agreed about Leftwich's shoulder. My gosh, how many times did NBC catch that, and Tomlin nor the did the coaching staff did Crap about it! Blame the coaching on this one, plan and simple!

    F U Tomlin!

I'll try this thread a second time since the first got pulled! You sucked TONIGHT as a coach! Didn't put the BEST team on the field to win this game! You refused to believe that Leftwich was hurt and my gosh, the NBC cameras caught it all! Good luck selling that in your press conference!

you know what? i have probably jumped in and posted 20 times on this board, but i have read this board for years (not necessarily this one, i remember the old one lol) I have never really disagreed with what you guys say as a whole. Today though i greatly disagree, all this complaining about coaching and qb play. Byron was not that hurt, i promise you, i know my promise isnt much but i can tell you in the injury report it will be nothing significant, he just wasnt making the throws that you guys thought he should have made. i mean guys come on give him a break. i feel as though his body motions were a force of habit when not being greatly successful. As far as im concerned i am so proud of this D holding them to 6, hell with Ben we win this by 10-14. you guys are over reacting, me...... im proud of my burgh and i feel good heading into Cleveland

    This team is toast!

Without Ben Roethlisberger the Steelers are a 3 win team, maybe 4 if the stars align.
Defense did outstanding tonight and the Offense and ST's stunk.
It's like watching the 80's all over again.

HURRY BACK BEN! WE NEED YA MORE THAN EVER!
