I know we're sitting a little over 10 million. And we can still move pieces around to free up space. Like moving TJ 20 million into a signing bonus.

So would y'all be open to trading for someone like Matt Ryan? Clearly falcons don't believe in him anymore and are trying to trade him to Texans for Watson along with huge draft picks..... Ryan also was to sign a restructure for 20 million this year and 25 million next year...... So we give up a first this year and a second round next year.

And don't flame me to bad with throwing Ryan out there. And don't knock on his season that hard last year. He made Cordelle Patterson look like a stud. And lost Julio to the Titans. And lost Ridley to mental issues.

Or do you think we will want to give trubisky a fair shot at being the #1?

Why give up your top two picks for a 36 year old QB that Atl no longer has faith in? He's more liable to retire in a season or two. Not to mention the red carpet that was just placed for Mitch. Steelers aren't making any moves with the exception of potentially trading Rudolph and grabbing a QB in the mid rounds.

Agreed. Except I don't think they'll be looking to trade. Simply because I don't think a team would want him. Unless it was something like a trade for a bench warming CB.

There just isn’t any logic in adding both. Or giving up assets and tying up cap space in Ryan at all, even if we didn’t have Trubisky.

I thought this was "Could we now trade a QB", not "Trade for a QB"

I can see the Steelers having to trade a QB now at the end of training camp if they draft a QB this year.

Hopefully they learned their lesson a few years ago when they traded Dobbs away before the season started and then watched both Ben and Mason both go down early in the season and were completely screwed. Need 3 QBs to start the season, not just 2.

Why didn't we even try and trade for Watson? What a wasted opportunity! He wanted to come here and he would put us over the top. Generational talent. What a HUGE miss by our front office. I am very disappointed that we would rather roll with Rudolph. I can't wait for Colbert to retire.

I would rather have Trubisky, he's much younger and mobile, he's also cheaper.

why would the Steelers take a mid round QB in the draft ??
They already have 3 of them on the roster.
They need a new Franchise QB .
Pickett , Willis , or Corral should be the #1 draft pick.

With the Mayfield situation, the Browns may take Willis or Pickett before us

No trade but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they drafted one in the first or second round.
In fact, given how successfully they're addressing issues in FA, I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade up in round 2 to get their guy.

Yeah... no to Matt Ryan for me. If anything, the problems the Steelers had last year with the lack of QB Mobility shall return again with Ryan this season. Mitchell Trubisky is a much better schematic fit than Matt Ryan is currently.

Not saying Mitchell's career is better than Matt's (no one is). However, for what Matt Canada needs for his Offense, Mitchell fits the bill.

Yeah I wouldn't mind one of those Georgia players in the first and Ridder in the second, but the problem is you can't just assume he would be there in RD2 after not selecting a QB in the first.

if the steelers like a particular QB and he falls, they'll draft him. if not, they won't. no sense in reaching for a QB you're on the fence about, just because you're in search of a franchise QB. really, that could set a team back more than one year by wasting time and effort developing a player that won't amount to anything, while passing on actual franchise QBs in the next draft or two.

I’m sorry, but DeSean Watson is not worth three first round draft picks. In fact, I would not trade three first round draft picks for any QB in the league. Watson has excess baggage. Has everyone forgotten that?

I would consider trading three first round picks for Josh Allen, or Justin Herbert.
