He's an athlete participating in a professional sport. He's right I didn't understand that. I had no idea.

Eh, we'll see. If he's better than he's been so far in his career, then that's the upside of this deal, not the expectation (at least for me). The expectation is that they now have at minimum a chance to be competitive in 2022 at that position, and if it's not what they're looking for long term, they'll know that in time to re-evaluate the position going into 2023, where at least the rookie quarterback options (and possibly the vet options, too) will be better than they've been this offseason, regardless of how many people don't want to believe that right now.

Listening to Trubisky have his first presser today with the media and seeing how all the leaders on the team have already reached out to him like Cam and TJ and guys on offense like Najee there is just no way Mason Rudolph is going to be on this team going into 2022. It just seems like a situation that’s not gonna work out and the sooner they move on from him the better.

May be right but man, Haskins better take a step forward, Rudolph is better than him.

Unless Dobbs is in their plans, he’s the only other mobile QB on the roster after Trubisky.

It doesn't seem as if they are interested in Haskins. He may be gone.

Rudolph is going to win the job. Why would we trade him? Trubisky doesn't know the offense and there is a reason why the Bears cut him.

I think any decisions about Rudolph and Haskins will likely happen after the draft unless the front office knows that Rudolph will not be on the roster irrespective of whether we draft a QB.

They just tendered him. Will be interesting to see who gets the boot after preseason.

Really!!? You seriously believe he is the QB Whisperer? Then why not let him work his magic with Rudolph or Haskins? You must not have a lot of faith in Canada then.

I think we see them both this season. Since neither one has established themselves as a future HOF, they will have a short leash and potentially pulled for the other in the middle of the 3rd Quarter. Ben was given way too much leeway last season. In some cases if he was our best chance to win, then he should have been pulled during a blowout just to preserve him for the next week.

I actually think Trubisky will end up starting. We aren't sure how he will turn out but we already know about Rudolph- he is a back-up at best.

2018-2020 -Trubisky posted a 25-13 record as a starter. not bad really.

This is the QB competition. Trubisky just needs to not embarrass himself.

    Job is his to lose.

No way they pay a Qb more 2 come in here, and not be the starter. Not how things are usually done here. I'm sure someone can find a anomaly, but usually.
I....Myself wanted a true Qb competition, but We will not get that.
It's Trubisky job 2 lose. IMO

I'm still a bit confused on this. Just read that the money is actually not guaranteed unless he makes the team, have read that 2 mill plus is guaranteed. Not a huge loss either way, of they bring in a rookie even on a minimum it's going to cost 750,000 if he makes the team.

Original-round tender: One-year contract worth the greater of (a) $2.183 million or (b) 110 percent of the player's prior-year base salary. Draft-choice compensation: a pick in the round the player was originally drafted in.

as of right now I think we are NOT drafting a QB. Its Trubisky, Mason, Haskins. I have to say Trubisky pick has been looking better than I first thought. The Steelers org. did a good job on this. Its a prove yourself deal or we'll draft Stroud next year. And Trubisky looks confident. I am liking our FA acquisitions more and more.
