Will the Steeler nation finally understand we are not getting a superstar QB in a trade

We are not trading for anyone who is good at QB. We will draft someone and maybe move up to get the Liberty QB. That is it. We are not going after Watson or Jimmy G who is average at best. We might sign someone like Marioto but thats it. We will suck next year with a new QB or Mason hacking away like his awesome Lions effort at home this year. Even if we got Watson, we have no oline. Our run d is worst in the league. The WRs cant catch and we have the worst Mike linebacker in the league.

I cannot press agree enough. We're talking about a team that gave up at least 120 points to the Chiefs and Bengals. This squad has far too many holes to give up multiple first round picks and players (which creates even more holes that would set the franchise even further back). If the Steelers were a QB away from winning the big game, like the Rams, then hell yes make the move. But we're not. We're not remotely close. Do we forget that we'll need a CB, DL, OL, WR and so on? Watson, for example, costs 35m in cash and a 40m cap hit; thus making it impossible to build team around him in 22, then the cost of draft picks makes it impossible to build teams around him in 23-25 thus making the entire venture pointless. Yes you need a franchise QB to win in this league, but you can't get one making it impossible to compete for 3-4 seasons. You can build a better team around Mason and not lose a single draft pick and find your franchise QB for a hella lot less cash.

Heaven forbid that a few of us don't want to suffer through a season of Rudolph and Haskins.

These are the same people that said we would never trade for Minkah.

Steelers have shown they are willing to step out of their comfort zone the last few seasons.

If Steelers move up to get the "Liberty QB" in the 1st round.... I'm gonna pull an SDOT and boycott the '22 season.

If Pickett falls past 13 or 14 , trade up and get him.
Otherwise trade down and pick up some more picks and sign a FA QB or draft a Ridder or Howell in the 2nd.

Sure but not for a blockbuster deal that involved them giving up first rounds.

Why? Seriously what makes you think Pickett has more long-term upside than the others? It's a crap shot at best, the Liberty kid has more upside (at least on vid) and I am.not sure I would take a leap to grab him.

I could ask why you think Willis has more upside as well ?
IMO I think Pickett has the arm , mobility and leadership skills that would help this team.
Personally I think trading anything is probably out of the realm of possibility for a QB when this team has soo many holes. Just draft one or sign a FA.

They gave up their first for Minkah. Giving up 2 is well worth getting a franchise QB for the next 12 years. Watson is only 26.

A Mike linebacker is the middle linebacker in football terms. Bush is the current one and one of the worst in the league

What makes you think Watson if he became a Steeler wouldn't suck? I still don't know if his body of work in Houston is enough for me to feel as excited for him as many of you do.

Funny, now after the combine I have Ridder as my top QB. Top marks in all physical categories for QBs.

Must be a regional thing. I've only been following the NFL for 44 years but, from the west coast. Never heard of a "Mike" linebacker.

Man this has to be personal because theres no way to look at Watsons body of work and think he isn’t that good.

He has a career 104.5 passer rating, the only other one I know of that has that is Aaron Rodgers. Higher than Brady, higher than Ben higher than Manning. Of course, they have all done it longer than Watson but still, it’s impressive.

His least season he played, he passed for nearly 5,000 yards, 30+ TD’s and 7 Ints.

He’s hands down one of the best QBs in the league.

I'm not making it personal, he's just been invisible to me. I'm sure playing for the Texans taints a lot of it but I've never seen much of him in highlights where I'm like oh man he's amazing. Regardless we're not getting him no matter what.

Remember this is coming from a guy that thinks Lamar Jackson is great. LoL.
    :lolol:
    Sorry.
I have 2 agree. Not a Watson fan. I've never seen Him really do much when it matters. I know stats matter , but lots of other things like playoffs wins matter. I know , I know takes a team. He hasn't always had a bad team. Matter of fact He has had one of the Clearly greatest Wrs his whole career, but one year. A Wr that has been great with 6 different Qbs....So proven, but the number 1 reason I don't want Him is the same reason I don't want a bunch of Qbs....that chose 2 leave their teams......they are runners....they are running from the teams that gave them a chance, and are virtually saying it's everyone's fault, but theirs for not winning. Not trying 2 help, but 2 run away. I find that a weakness. JMO.

Steeler FO essentially got to use their first round pick early for a proven player. That's probably as far as they're willing to go.

I don't think for a second that they would trade away multiple first round picks and sign a QB to a $200 million dollar contract.
