    For me it's signing
    Marriotta - QB 2 year/13 million
    James conner - RB 2 year/15 million
    Austin corbett - G 4 year/40 million

    Draft
Round 1 if a good QB falls to us. Take him. If not Nakobe Dean - ILB
Round 2 Christian Harris ILB if we take a QB round one. And if not AKalyeb Evans CB.
Round 3 BPA for defense. Or QB if we did not take one.

I'm against trading for a QB because we have so many holes to fill. And it eats into our cap. For instance let's says Watson is fully cleared. That's all our cap space, and our draft picks. Y'all really want to go thru the season without a guard, ILB and CB again?

Of course I love the Marcus Mariota pickup. And, I think you are completely over paying for James Conner.

I prefer James Daniels over Corbett and like Ryan Jansen the best, but I don't know if the Steelers can afford him.

I think our Defensive backfield is a complete joke right now with only 2 starters returning out of 5. I am hoping one of the top CB falls to the #20 spot. Don't hate me, but I will feel better when Edmunds is back on the team.

These mock drafts are all over the place so there will be someone slipping hope the Steelers wait and see who is available at #20 and don't trade up.

So my FA pickups would be.
    #1 Marcus Mariota
    #2 Ryan Jensen
    #3 Terrel Edmunds

I like Jensen. But I think a guard can help us better. But I could be wrong.

Only problem I see is that we have to do some cuts or trades. To make room for Edmunds.

if it was a trade, I would get rid of claypool. I don't like his style, and looks to be on the rise of talking crap and then goes to look bad...... I think a 3rd could happen.

They can fit Edmunds in easy. BUT I really don't want him back n nothing over the 4-5 mil range

They are 28 mil under now. Cut schobert n banner n that's 14 mil saved n go get people who can play well

They need to sign a very solid to great CB as they sure as heck struggle developing or even IDing them in the draft

LOVE the Conner proposal...Connor is the type who DOESN'T flourish, when he gets his wheels run off! He's NOT a Earl Campbell type ( or even a Bell or Najee ) type, who just gets fed and fed...

You seen how he looked rejuvenated, with how he was used ( how he always should have been used ) last year! His style doesn't bode well to a massive workload...

This " could " help us two fold...Have a very competent backup, and " maybe" ( even though Tomlins NEVER done it ) " maybe " he wouldn't run Najees wheels off!

Keep Najee fresh AND have a skilled and competent RB on the field, when he rests...

Not Benny Snell Football, Balladge, McFarland or any of those other Stiffs

    Free Agents

    Marcus Marriotta QB
    Ryan Jensen C
    Bobby Wagner LB

    Draft

    Zion Johnson OT
    Kyler Gordon CB
    Channing Tindall LB

Wagner may be out of our price range but he’d be a great addition to our D.

For this exercise, I am just assuming the Steelers work their cap magic and have resigned their own...Edmunds, Spoon.. who ever they want to keep

    My free agents
    1 Phillip Lindsey RB
    2 Stephon Gilmore CB
    3 Foye Oluokun LB

I wanted to put Jensen in here but if he gets over 12 I'm out. I also like Ben Jones

    ROUND 1 G Kenyon Green
    or NT Jordan Davis

    ROUND 2. ILB Troy Anderson
    or WR Skyy Moore

    ROUND 3. RT Max Mitchell
    or NT Travis Jones

Lots of good cheaper Rbs coming out this Year.
Didn't Conner end up getting hurt anyway last year???

Why would the Steelers pay Conner more than Najee to be a backup? Dean isn't a good fit next to Bush, he's 5'11 229lbs.

Well for one Harris is a rookie. They're set contracts. So yeah, you kind of have to pay another player more if you want them.
Nakobe is a great player with speed and covering. This league is growing to using TE to be pass catchers instead of being a little catcher and good at blocking.

Yeah I really don't want to see Harris get beat up where we give him a massive contract in a few years and then watch him go down hill.

I like the draft picks of Davis and Anderson.

But what scares me is you're saying we don't get a QB anywhere.

Najee is the #1 RB, and you think they would spend that much money on a backup , the Steelers aren't interested in Conner he can get more carries elsewhere.

I do as well. Not seeing viable options outside of Jameis and Mitch and not sure if they're coming here.

At one point I wanted Mariotta, but honestly I'm not sure he even beats out a MASON/HASKINS

I like Winston a lot more than Tribinsky but do I feel they are that big of an upgrade that I want to add 10 to 12 mill in cap, while I pay Mason 6? That money could buy a Jensen or Gilmore or even put you into the add a little more and pay JC Jackson

I really don't care for any QB in the draft this year. Would rather s what we got and try to draft a guy next year

So I'll ride with MASON/HASKINS/DOBBS... If Mariotta is willing to come in cheap I'll add him to the mix..or if Watson some how ends up here I'll dump Masons 6 mill

And for Travis Jones... yeah I think he is late 2 to 3 range...I mean somebody will fall and he is ultimately a NT from UCONN

Agreed on Winston, he is twice the QB that Mariota or Trubisky have been or will be. Their first call, if they're thinking FA QB is to Winston's agent. If Winston wants a big contract, then maybe pass, and he'll probably get it. There is a reason Trubisky has never had that intangible quality of leadership or fire. He looks like a deer in headlights every other play. Mariota, I really liked him coming out of college, but I can at least admit I was wrong. He isn't an answer and neither is Trubisky. A step better than Mason? Maybe so, but still both below average NFL starting QBs.

Either sign Winston or draft a rookie QB they really like, but make sure that QB has the fire needed to succeed. Too many first round failures were due to lack of effort on/off the field and in the off-season. The interview and background work is the most important thing at this point if you feel a few of these rookie QBs have similar amounts of short-comings.

Do you not understand Harris is a rookie and that we can't pay him more?
Would you like to see Harris continue to not have a decent backup for rotation? Because that's how you get a RB to get injured and/or not last more than 5 years.
