Most of us know the importance of good neighbor etiquette. It typically leads to peace with those around you, comraderie, and genuine care and concern about one another's well being when maintained. Clearly there are some people that just dont get it and it leads to tension, hostile feelings, and unfortunately verbal and physical confrontations.

Being that many of you on here are from PA I'm sure most of you are aware of the tragic incident that took place just last year around this time when a man killed his two neighbors and then himself over a snow removal dispute. Ironically enough I was just watching a show last night called "Fear Thy Neighbor" in which a man took out two of his neighbors over conflicts between them that had been happening for years. I would hope I never get to the place that those neighbors got. I would rather just move if I thought it was going to get that bad.

For the most I get along with most people in my neighborhood but there are some pet peeves I've had to deal with that are immensely annoying and inconsiderate. I was wanting to share with you guys those pet peeves and see if you have any of your own and if you have been able to resolve any issues peacefully. Maybe if you talk about it enough others can offer their insight on how to create a fair resolution.

My biggest pet peeves that I've experienced so far:

    1) letting dogs off leash in the neighborhood that eventually use the toilet in your yard and the owner is not around or refuses to pick it up. This used to be a huge problem with one of my neighbors, because apparently they had transitioned from country to city life and didnt realize theres a difference. Multiple times I had to go down and let them know there dog was taking poops in my yard and yet they were nowhere around to pick it up. Finally I just had to get authorities involved. It finally stopped eventually and the woman of that house had ill will towards me afterward, but why should it have to come to that after multiple requests to do something about it?

    2) this just happened to me yesterday. Neighbors' kid decides to park out on the street during snowstorm rather than driveway of their home so that the plows cant clear the street properly after a snow storm. You have a 2 car garage, plus a long enough driveway that can fit four cars. You have 3 cars between family members....no excuse. I did tell the kid to just park in my driveway if it was absolutely necessary for future reference, but I would hope he could plainly see the errors of his ways....especially since his family had so much trouble getting out of their own driveway as a result.

    3) I used to have an issue with one particular neighbor across the street sweeping or placing all their trash in front of their next door neighbors curb. They tried it once with me when they removed some items from my next door neighbors house and then placed his trash (large items) in front of my curb instead of my neighbors. I like my neighbor (one of the best guys I've ran into on my block), but dont place his trash in front of my house. I nipped that in the bud real quick and made them place it in front of his house. I have no idea where the boldness of people comes from sometimes, but I guess nothing should surprise anyone in this day and age.

What are pet peeves that you have ran into with inconsiderate neighbors??

We moved into a over 55 mobile home park 6 years ago. Needless to say the houses are very close together but it is so much nicer and quieter then our home on a residential street that we lived in for 35 years. Love not needing to mow grass. Cement is my friend. In the winter after 5:00 we can count on one hand the times we hear a car. 99% of the time the neighbors respect the rules.

My pet peeve are those mother f*&king wind chimes. I tried to get them eliminated from the park but they didn't do it. Can't help but notice the people who put them up never sit outside. Thankfully the people around us were kind and took them down when we asked.

When you put a wind chime up you are forcing that noise on every neighbor around you. I live by the ocean so wind blows a lot.

Let's hope. Despite people saying we're far from championship material...what they really mean say is that we are a franchise QB away. They only finished a half game behind the team that almost won it all and that team had a way easier schedule (last place schedule if I'm not mistaken). Now the Bengals get stuck with a first place schedule.

Our little cul-de-sac has a "Gladys Kravitz", for all of you who are old enough to know who that is, but mostly, everyone is sane and quiet. Though, whether good or bad, I don't know any of my neighbors' names. Even after 22 years.......

Some of friends of mine have an a-hole neighbor. This guy actually had the audacity to call the police on their kids playing in their own fenced in back yard. He did it repeatedly. 7 and 8 year old boys in their own yard.

I lived in a cul de sac for awhile, and hated it. Just for this crap, and also for people turning around all the time. LoL
