To be fair, that's not really what he's saying. He acknowledges that Ben meets the criteria to be in the HOF. But he wants a much higher standard.

I'm not sure I can take someone who has a caricature of Ultimate Warrior as their twitter handle picture seriously. Don't get me wrong back in the day the Warrior was cool but it doesn't scream I know what I am talking about.

Does this guy get a vote? If not, who cares what he thinks? Ben and Eli have the numbers to get in. 2 SB wins each. Stafford? Not yet. Rivers, ROMO, Ryan? Who thinks they have any business being considered? ROMO???

Who cares what this guy thinks? He’s probably not the only person with the same thought process.

On that list, only Ben and Eli are worthy.

Of the guys listed, Ben’s credentials are vastly superior. The closest is Eli, but Ben has a much stronger case:

    Record: Ben 165-85-1; Eli 117-117
    Seasons with losing record as a starter: Ben 2: ‘06 + ‘20 (2 games in ‘20); Eli 7
    TDs: Ben 418, Eli 366
Yards: Ben 64k vs 57k for Eli

Yeah, they’ve both won 2 Super Bowls and Eli has 2 Super Bowl MVPs, but Eli had multiple seasons where was average to below average. The other guys didn’t win enough big games to be at either Ben or Eli’s level.

So whatever the Ultimate Warrior guy is trying to say falls flat by listing all of these guys as if they’re similar in credentials. They’re not even close.

I think ELI is in a similar list with all these guys.. except Ben.. he had 2 good post seasons.. but his regular season is far below HOF IMO...... but the 2 rings put him in next tier.

Remember only 1 QB with 2 rings is not in the HOF

    Jim Plunkett
    2 SBs 1SB MVP.
He is 8-2 in the playoffs
500 in the regular season 72-72

    Eli Manning
    2 SBs 2SB MVPs
He is 8-4 in the playoffs
    500 in regular season 117-117

Obviously Eli has more stats as Plunkett was a back up in a rushing league most of his career.... but we are ready to put Eli in after 2 good playoff runs and an average regular season...I contend Plunketr had that too

Peyton was a first ballot and one of the best to ever play...Ben is closer to Peyton than he is Eli....Eli is only in the conversation because of 2 rings. But he is closer to a Matt Ryan

    Peyton 186-79 (14-13) playoffs
    71940 yards 539 td
    2-2 SB

    Ben 165-81-1 (13-10)
    64088 yards 418 td
    2-1 SB

    Rivers 137-107.(5-7)
    63440 yards..421 td

    Ryan 120-102 (4-6)
    59735 yards 367 td
    0-1 SB

    Eli 117-117 (8-2)
    57023 yards 366 td
    2-0 SB

    Stafford 86-95-1 (4-3)
    49995 yards 367 td
    1-0 SB

    Romo 78-49 (2-4)
    34183 yards 248 td

I can’t agree with that. Teams didn’t throw his way for a decade. He couldn’t tackle, but he was a beast in coverage.

I was going to raise Plunkett too.

To me you can’t make the case for Eli if Plunkett isn’t there.

Romo :lolol: :roflmao:  That's a joke right?!

    Matt Ryan. No.

Stafford wins another Super Bowl he should get in.

Eli Manning won 2 Super Bowls against the cheats, and won 2 MVP's. He belongs in the HOF.

Plunkett should be in there already.

The media will do all they can to put Romo in the HOF.

Ben should be a 1st ballot HOFer but it wouldn't surprise if it took him several years to get there either. He's not respected enough throughout the league. JMO.

ben shouldn't be in the hall. they have closing times, he can't just be in there any time he wants. just because there is a steeler wing doesn't mean ben can loiter after dark. go home ben it's closing time. :smiley1::cool:

That is what I mean when I say it isn't all about stats:

If you have more than one Superbowl win as a QB, you pretty much cemented your legacy...I don't care what your stats are.

Personally, I don't feel like Eli should get in, being how up and down he has been in his career, but the fact he has 2 Superbowls (against Patriots) gets him in without a doubt. There is no argument.

So to you its all about post season?

I understand the thought.. but to me regular season has to mean something
    Marino 0-1 SB
    Jim Kelly 0-4
    Fran Tarkington 0-3

    Aaron Rodgers 139-66-1 (11-10)
    55360 yards 449 td
    1-0 SB

BEN has him beat in almost every stat.... bet Ultimate Warrior thinks Rodgers should be in.. and he is closer to Ryan plus the ring

That’s like putting a tackle in the HOF because he was a beast at run blocking but couldn’t pass block. It should be a complete package.

Eli did win both sb mvps, made some pro bowls, and is top ten I various passing categories. That's not Plunkett.

The main ability they focus on with a corner is his ability to cover wrs. That's what they get paid for primarily. Not their ability to tackle.

I’m guessing you are new to football. Defensive players are required to make tackles. Even more so when Deon played and the game was more run oriented.

He's with Brady now so I think it may take Ben to the 2nd year because of this.

What QB retirries are coming up in the next 5 to challenge Ben?

Yeah if this is about Deon again it's crazy talk.

Regarded as one of the best for years. Then did it again at 37.

His lack of tackling ability didn't keep his team from winning, maybe he was really good as playing the boundary, forcing inside, getting help and running down if need be.

Maybe that's what the scheme called for. Maybe that how the D was drawn up. Either way there was a defender on the field you didn't toy with and for some time is was Deon.

All that said, I didn't watch enough in real time and it may be over blown.

Does anyone think Darrell Revis gets in?

    Oh yeah go Steelers!
