Strong had the furthest by 1 yard. He throws a good football. Of course I like Willis throw, his arm talent is insane.

Strong may be my number two when I’m finished ranking them. Really like him, just doesn’t fit the mobility narrative but he has enough to extend plays and pick up first downs occasionally.

What’s funny… exactly zero completions in those longest passes.

Cannot remember the exact distance, but recall reading an article Al Davis saw JaMarcus Russell throw an insane distance while on his knees, that worked out well. Lol

Yeah. Too bad he had to throw to teammates and not just a yard marker.

I think Carsons would have been caught if the defender didn’t take the receivers legs out.

He definitely throws a nice deep ball. I haven’t watched much on him yet, but it’s certainly on my agenda.

Kid that ravens drafted back in the day did that also. Kyle Boyler(can't remember His name). I remember thinking ....how many passes are You throwing from your knees???? Well good luck with that.

Russell could throw a football into the end zone from his knees on the 50 yard line. Al Davis fell in love with his arm and ignored the fact that he could do nothing else except throw a football a long ways.

    "ZOMG He throw far!!!!"
That really does not matter. Just for fun I went back and watched Burrow vs Clemson in the National Championship game. Not one pass traveled over 45 air yards and he dominated in the second half. In reality you will rarely need to throw that far and virtually no play is designed for that kind of distance (besides a Hail Mary) because the timing is so unreliable. Even Mahomes' throw to Hill in the Super Bowl only went 52 yards through the air.

Throws like these are the ones that win games:
Out route to the opposite hash.
Middle of the field to the sideline and there is nothing the DB can do about it.

Consistent throws that operate the offense will get my football boner going more than moon balls ever will.

Kyle Boller could reportedly throw a football through the uprights on one knee from the 50 yard line. We all remember how great he was.

there are a lot good athletes that could throw a country mile but the mass between the ears wasn't able to figure out where and when to throw it. you either have that or you don't.

Exactly. And going from college elite to NFL good starter thins them out even further, to NFL elite the chosen few..very few really.

Arm strength isn’t the end all be all for QB’s, we are all familiar with the knocks on Montana about his arm, that turned out pretty good.

Still a good trait to have.

When you watch the playoffs and the current crop of elite (and upcoming elite) QBs move an offense into possible winning drives with 2 plays it certainly bolsters that argument lol. That said your comment brought the memory of The Drive that Montana engineered against Cincy in the SB. Amazing as I just watched it again. How he started that drive, told all the guys.to look at the opposite end zone, John Candy was standing there, minds off FB for a few seconds on a TV time out, now let's go to work. Yes Blast, that turned out pretty good. Just another Pittsburgh area born QB who did the area proud.

I believe that was Sam Howell; clocking in at 59 MPH via the Scouting Combine. Howell is a more of a off script player than others are willing to admit overall; using his legs to not just buy additional time but force DBs to work in unfavorable circumstances. My biggest problem with him resides in him being way too confident in that arm of his. Do not misinterpret his arm talent; one of the best overall in the class and would be the best if Malik Willis was not in the class. However, he trusts that arm.... way.. too... much.

What QB wouldn't trust his arm too much? Off script? Sounds like Big Ben.
NOW, just add the aspect of leadership with how Howell plays football, advantage Sam.

Malik has played for 5 years. Not very impressive stats with who he played against. TBH. JMO.

I laughed at the mention of Howell when it first came up, but if I had 2 take a Qb in the 1st.....I mean I was freaking forced....the more I watch....the more I'm leaning towards Him.
