I agree. Many say they have seen enough, he never has had a line when he has played. That said when given time his passes are not the most accurate. Unless he really stinks it up big time he is the likely starter like it or not.

He has never had a game plan designed around him or regular first team reps.

I anticipate a middle of the road QB brought in to compete.

One of the news guys mentioned this I don't give it much credence but a thought. Maybe removed from the shadow of Ben will unleash a better version of MR?

I believe it will. A year ago I had higher hopes though. Not so much now.

Scouting reports said the same thing about Ben. I’ve seen Strong escape a collapsing pocket and run straight up the middle to pick up a first down. He’s not a statue.

His a prototypical pocket passer with a a big arm and size. I think they clearly want someone more mobile than that but Strong seems to be the style that some fans want in a QB. I would be ok if they took him, clearly not my first choice.

I watched some tape last night. What's the MO on the kid from Nevada?
I did not like anything I saw from riddler. Willis I was meh and Howell I thought can work. I do get a weird Mitch T feeling with Howell for some reason.

I watched maybe 10 plays from 10 QB prospects so sample is small and I may have sold it short.

Edit- ahhh Carson strong. See him discussed here in the thread. Agree on a previous post you had about being much more of a pocket passer. Of all in this class be seems to be the most straight drop guy.

intelligent, a tad of mobility to avoid a blitz, not so much run to the outside and you have a winner

these come around every few years and are available before we draft

Rodgers is mobile, jerky. He has a trademark roll out pinpoint accuracy reputation. Do you watch thr NFL?

You know who's not mobile? Mason Rudolph. So, all the saps who keep yapping about him starting next year, well, here you go....

Fine. That can be Rooney's definition but it isn't Tomlin's. Watch.

And "buy time" in a first read offense that is predicated on designed screens, sweeps, rollouts etc? Makes no sense.

"We need a QB who can buy time in a dink and dunk offense." You see how that is contradictory right?

The offense might be different with a new QB who has some mobility.

Elsewhere in the article he mentioned making throws downfield. I don’t think anyone is enamored with dinking and dunking. It’s what we ended being limited to because of the O line and Ben.

Just changing the Qb from anyone - anyone will make it different, but different good, or different worse????
    That's the Question.

Canada's offense is literally a dink and dunk RPO that is run heavy.

Where are you seeing his history of developing a deep passing attack?

Aww Man You got 2 keep bringing Me down. Hopefully Canada will incorporate somethings into His offense. I have watched Him his whole time in LSU,and now Here. I have seen no signs of a deep passing game, but I got 2 hope He incorporates more, and learns from what He sees in the NFL. If He's our OC....I have 2 hope, because I'm not changing teams . Steelers fan for life
