That fumble wasn't even his fault. Watch the play again, he got destroyed in the backfield at the same time he had the ball handed to him. He never even had the ball completely secured before he got hit. There was no way he was going to hold onto that ball.

Besides, that one play didn't lose us the game. We should be thankful we were even in the game. The Packers WR's had numerous key drops that would have put the game out of reach, plus with Ben's mediocre play, we were fortunate we even had a chance at the end of the game to come back and win. GB was very clearly the better team in that game, there's not one play that cost us the game

What you're describing sounds to me like his "fumble" against the Ravens last year, when he got lit up by Ngata as he was reaching for the ball. That one was so ridiculous I can't believe he officially gets charged with a fumble for it (I took it out of his stats when presenting them). In the Super Bowl, however, he had the ball secured and had taken some steps. I agree that it's not really his fault though, because he was completely sabotaged by his blockers. If you're running by a guy who looks like he's definitely going to be blocked, and then your blocker runs right passed him without even touching him, the hit becomes a huge surprise. And Matthews got his helmet right on his arm. It's always a RB's fault to some degree, because he needs to hang onto it no matter what, but... Very tough to hang onto that ball, and given the amount of times Redman has fumbled over plays where there was no excuse at all, I can't imagine anyone saying he would have held onto it.

You mean Mendy and yeah, Shaner has the wrong play in mind. Mendy clearly had the ball secured and out of the backfield before Matthews hit him. I'm not going to put all the blame on Mendy for that but it was a devastating play in the game no doubt, we were driving and had momentum, GB was clearly on the ropes until that play happened. The missed block by the TE and then his complete unawareness of where the ball was is where I put more of the blame on that play.

No, I meant Redman. I'm saying he fumbles a lot in comparison to Mendenhall, and on those (at least the ones I can remember) there aren't even special circumstances out of his control, like on Mendenhall's super bowl fumble.

I suppose I would give Dwyer the most rushes and Mendy the most screens and Redman the most short yardage. Ultimately I think Mendy is the best of all three players but he might still have a little rust on him.

Mendy, Dwyer, Redmen....in that order. I have been pretty disappointed in Redman this season....I wrote it off early as the nagging injury....But he looked really good against the Giants...and I felt he was back...but against the Chiefs...he was right back at it......For some reason Redman is trying to turn into a start stop type back...don't run to the line stop and decide which way to jump cut or spin....His game is all on heart and momentum.....Put your head down...get two or three...and call it a play.
