    We will see.
    I could be Wrong.
Won't be the first nor the last time I was. LoL.
I do know in our game if He was this great passing Qb as most say. They would have easily beat Us. He over threw, and under threw..... Wide open players against us 5 different times. 2 for TDs.
It takes about 6 years of playing before I fully trust Qbs will Be good for their entire careers , or not. Watched football for way 2 long, and have seen a bunch of Qbs have 3-4 good years, and disappear, or become backups. So...We will see.
I do know the longer He goes without a SB. The harder it will be for Him 2 get one.

Cousins’ 2022 salary is $35 million, fully guaranteed. In my view that would be a terrible investment. Yes, a deal could be negotiated to extend that hit over an extension, but is linking our fortunes to Cousins a recipe for championship football? I don’t think so.

Yeah, they wouldn’t do it at that salary. Figured it would be reworked if they are interested.

It just seems to me like Cousins is not a clutch player. When things are going well, he’ll look great and pile up stats. Under stress he’s more likely to wilt than step up.

See this is something I think others overlook. I believe some don't believe in it, but I do. Clutch. Clutch is the ability 2 not tighten up, or 2 not do it as frequently as most. I've seen it in competitive sports....Hell I've choked. It's also not something people take stock in....because a lot don't believe in it. Maybe because it's not a stat.
Like I believe P. Manning was way better in every aspect than His brother, but I believe His Brother was more Clutch, or less able 2 choke. He didn't over think, and get tight. It's a real thing.

But one guy can do so much. The guys around them have to play clutch too. We really can't assume we can just replace a young ben. Other qbs will still need to learn this team and the team him. I don't want us just to get an average place holder.

I agree, we have a history of drafting "project players" in QBs in the later rounds as well as an occasional project player in the first round.

Crazy idea...don't crush me on this I'm just spit balling here:

If the Eagles go QB with one of their 3 top 20 picks, how about Jalen Hurts in a trade? Not saying he would be a franchise QB but he could be a nice stop gap for a couple of years.

Haskins beat out Joe Borrow at Ohio St the guy has talent , first round pick I’d give him serious shot in pre season. He’s got a cannon for sure he needs lots of work but who knows.

I wouldn't read too much into that. a) Haskins was a better fit for Meyer's system than Burrow. b) Meyer hasn't developed a QB for the NFL since he was HC at Utah. It wasn't a priority for him. Not that it should be, either. His job was to win games for the university, not for the pros. An outlook which he took to the Jags, by the way.

    Different games, different skills required.

The one common trait among the great QBs is that they are killer competitive. If talented players like Haskins had that drive and spark, they wouldn't be a third string QB. They would do what it took to be great and that would be recognized by a team.

I am more interested in finding the next leader who can represent the Steelers and has that killer drive to win, in addition to having talent than I am just running out a talented JaMarcus Russell type guy who can throw far.

I wasn't a fan of the QB's in this draft at the beginning of the year but I'm sold on Sam Howell. His season wasn't as good as the previous years but he still made big plays with his feet and his arm. He can make all the throws. I'd be ok with Des Ridder too.

Not sure about dumb, but He sure seems lazy. I guess you could say dumb for being lazy, and not taking advantage of His gifts.
    So.....Never mind.

Rudolph will be given a fair chance to start.
Someone with experience will be brought in to compete.
One of these two will be our starter next year.
Haskins might have a chance to be number3.
If a rookie is drafted it will be after round 2, and if so, Haskins is gone.
Dobbs will be on the sideline in a salary position.

Mel Kiper, Jr. has us taking Matt Corral at 20, at least in the most recent iteration of his mock draft. I’m sure that will change between now and the draft.

Colbert has been to North Carolina to see a few games this past season I think.
