A injury loss dealing with our leader may just be what the doctor ordered.

Hate to say it but this season is basically over for the Steelers. We have sub standard backup QB's. We'll finish 8-8 if we are lucky.

All I know is, everytime I think the Steelers have no shot, they surprise me. Same goes the other way when I think they are going to stomp a team (think KC). But yeah, Big Ben out for a game against our fiercest rival is never a good thing.

As an optimist generally, I appreciate the sentiment, but I really don't see any bright side to losing Ben. No matter how many times Tomlin says "the standard is the standard," there's a reason Lefty and Batch are backups. The standard may, in fact, be the standard, but the personnel trying to meet the standard are not all equally up to the task.

I'm not counting the Steelers out for any game, but the chances of winning are less than they would be, and it is going to take a lot better execution and game planning without Ben to come out with a W.

I'd like to see what Lefty can do AND see Ben put up those 30 pts/game. Then we can make that analysis.

Ben is more mobile than Lefty. The rest remains to be seen. Prior to KC, Lefty hadn't taken a snap since Jan 2011.

I completely disagree ....Ben is not only the MAN...he is the offense....this team is in trouble without Superman and his cape back there.

We will see what this team is made if they can't rally behind Leftwich then we have a very slim chance of making the playoffs If what Tomlin is selling is next man up!!!!!!! is correct then this will be a good test to that first snap go all out and the 12th man gotta get crazy loud

I agree with the first post, this will cause the Steelers to circle the wagons, I think they can win more games than they lose the rest of the season.

However by the playoffs it will wear off and that is when you need Ben to be in there. Great Qb's win playoff games and championships.

Might as well forfeit the rest of the season and save money on travel expenses.

Time to get ready for next year.

Kevin Kolb out here in Az has the same injury Ben has. He isn't even anywhere close to being able to come back and has been out 3.5 weeks now. Can barely throw a ball 20 yards they are saying. I am afraid it ain't lookin good for a Big Ben return. Even if he did, if there was anymore risk to him doing so than if he hung em up til next yr, then we wait til next yr and pray we get younger on D!!

When ever Ben is out it seems like our team plays harder on both sides of the ball. Before I start let me state that I'll be happy when Ben returns but the last time he was out for four straight games I beleive we went to the SuperBowl. If Ben only misses a few games, which I think he will, this team will not miss a beat. I can't wait for Monday Morning or late Sunday night to see all the Lefty haters kissing his back-side after he lights up the Ravens Sunday Night. Go Steelers!!!
