It just seems with the rats performance on Sunday and ours with lefty on Monday it seems a lil hopeless but I hope you guys are right

I would really like to think we are about to see a repeat of 05. Maybe go 3 games without Ben and then get him back and go on a run. I think the problem with this is we just don't have the d to do it for us. Our d can play solid but they can't put up points like they used to. It's flat out time for this d to step up and bare the load again. Lefty is a game manager at best and we need to prepare ourselves for that reality. But if our d can get us some points I think we can stick around. Also we are leading some other teams and have some padding. The bottom line is if we had taken care of business in Oakland and TN this wouldn't be nearly as big of a deal. Too bad we didn't.

Well based on some tweets that someone was telling me about today I would say espn is more accurate. It wasn't Steeler related but everyone in Knoxville is hoping John Gruden will come here and there's been a lot of Tweets today that seem to indicate he is interested in doing so. However, I have news for them, Gruden is NOT coming here and IF he coaches again it will be for either the Chargers or the Eagles. That's my two cents. But CBS was reporting those tweets and trying to give them some validity. I strongly disagree. So just by that I would say espn. HOWEVER is this the SAME ESPN that said "DRINK AND DRUNK"?

While stats can be deceiving as we've all debated ad nauseam herein - we could/should still be fine against the Ratbirds even with BL at QB - Balt has the 6th worst overall defense in the NFL (7th worst pass and 7th worse run) and the Steelers strangely still hold the #1 best ranking. It will come down to our D forcing mistakes and BL minimizing his while hopefully regaining an effective running game. KC has the 10th best D in the NFL and it showed last night.

That's only because the people who do these "rankings" have'nt seen the Bears, Texans, Broncos, 49ers, or Seahawks play D this year. If any single human being on this planet says we are better than ANY of those defenses they need to be given a bicycle helmet and driven to the nearest short bus stop.

Actually it is because of the official measurement (yards allowed per game) that the Steelers D is #1.

The CBS report was written at 12:23 this afternoon, right after the Tomlin news conference and they're quoting him in saying that he's questionable. I listened to the PC and he made that call based on the very limited info he had at the time.

They need a new way to rank it apparently.

I agree. YPG allowed is not the be-all, end-all measure of a defense's performance.

Yeah because when your special teams gives you a short field then you are gonna look like people aren't getting a lot of yards eventhough they might be giving up a lot of points ya know?

Yup. The Raiders had 3 more total yards than the Ravens on Sunday but they got smoked.

Im guessing the rib injury and the shoulder injury are the same since the shoulder injury is actually the connection of the clavicle to the sternum. Heres a pic of the scene of the crime:

I think we should play lights out against the Ravens. At least it's at home. Also, they have key players out too. I'd feel better with Batch in though. We should be able to get past the Browns and hopefully Ben will be back in time for the 2nd Ravens game. The good news is his wife should have had the baby by then so he would have missed one of those games anyway!
