    • We won ugly... and got lucky. But this kind of games are the ones we can't afford to lose
    • Who else thinks that Redman's fumble will mean Dwyer is our starter for next Sunday?
    • Timmons or Clark for Steelers defensive MVP so far?
    • Timmons was all over the place today: tackling for a loss, creating havoc on 3rd downs and, of course, with that int
    • Clark seemed much more worried to hit someone today anything else, but proves each week that he's the true leader of this D
    • B Kiesel showed he still has some magic under his sleeves. Inconsistency has been the issue with him this year.
    • With W Allen playing at a high level, should we risk playing Polamalu before he’s at least 80%?
    • Another solid game from Ike & K Lewis. Not an A+ game, but for sure a B game
    • Wallace made a nice grab. But he still missed at least one deep pass, which should have been a TD
    • Is it me, or coach Arians is trying to make a cameo appearance with all that bubble screens for 2 yards?
    • Sanders & Cotchery: safe targets, playmakers on 3rd down. Sanders dropped a pass on 3rd down in the 1st qtr, but stepped up big at the end of the game
    • Leftwich looked rusty, and that's normal –hadn’t played in about 2 years-. But he looked confused and was playing with a shortened version of our playbook. What's going on there? He's been healthy enough and has had a lot of time to learn it
    • Coach Haley had no confidence on Lefty. Is there other reason, or just caution because of his lack of playing time?
    • Call me whatever you want: If Ben can't go on Sunday -or if he misses more time- our best chance to beat any team is with Batch at QB, not with Leftwich
    • Either way, we should be able to handle the Ravens & Browns, even without Ben the next 2 weeks
    • Just when we were getting used to the new W Colon, he came back to his old self with 2 penalties... during the same play!
    • Our return game was non-existent. We will need some plays from them the next couple of weeks.
    • Suisham has earned Coach T's confidence. I’ve always said I’m not sold on him, but this guy really can deliver and perhaps he’ll be here for the years to come

Those are some of my random thoughts after yesterday's game. What are yours?

You forgot that Heath fumbled too but luckily we got it back. and Lefty's incomplete pass/ fumble was also luckily an incomplete pass. I don't see how Ben can go on Sunday. Its not like a sprained ankle where you can wrap it up to prevent movement, its his shoulder and he needs movement.

Agree with all you posted. I think Suisham will never get the love here because of his rather shaky past - and probably a good reason. But, he has done everything he has been called upon to do and delivered. Heck, remember when he even stepped in to do the punting when our punter went down? Was that last year or 2010? Anyways, Suisham should get more love, in my opinion and he continues to win games for us with his foot. I also thought that after two really nice games by the OL, they looked pretty much like dogsh!t last night. The T's got completely owned by Hali and Houston and the run game was a huge disappointment. Redman followed a stellar performance last week by crapping down his leg last night. Not what we wanted to see. Timmons and Clark are the standouts on D so far this season and Timmons should really buy Matt Cassel dinner after that terrible throw/INT. Cassel is not a good QB and the Chefs offense is pathetic. Our offense was even more pathetic when Ben went down.

Before the game even started, I expected them all to under perform because it was cold and wet which caused most of the dropped passes and fumbles. I know you can't blame the weather but it's hats not to

That wasn't Heath, that was David Paulsen.

i like your optimism but say we should have handle the ravens without ben sounds little bit too much , if ben is out we have 40% of win vs the rats and 55 % vs cleveland

My random thought is that I have once again confirmed my hatred for watching the Steelers play on MNF. Takes forever and a day for the game to get started if you are on the east coast. The team usually has no rhythm for the 1st quarter and by the time it's over half the stands are empty cause most people have to get up in 5 short hrs. Add to it that you have to listen to Chucky babbling about how Tomlin has never lost on MNF at home the last 15 attempts and his sidekick agreeing with every word and it just becomes ridiculous. Now I get to do it all again on SNF with the pencil head geek who completely hates the Steelers and Al (I should have retired a decade ago) Michaels. Can't wait to hear how many times Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are mentioned even though they won't sniff a second of playing time.
Give me 1 o'clock or 4 o'clock starts every week and I'll be ecstatic.

totally agree about Batch. with the so called "dink and dunk" offense, Batch is perfect for that. he can get the ball out fast, hes smart. Byron is to slow with his release. last night it really looked slow. maybe rusty, but it still looked real slow.

i think Ben will be back sooner than later. the dude is tough as nails and im sure he doesnt want to let his team down. i would almost bet he misses sunday which might of happened anyways with the birth of his baby, but i see him coming back against Cleveland.

He'll never get the love from me because he has got to be one of the only kickers in the NFL that can't kick the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs. When he lines up for field goals now I feel good and confident he's making it. But the kickoffs drive me bananas! Is there a stat for opposing starting field position on kickoffs? I guarantee we are at the top. Kicking the ball to the 2 or 3 yard line instead of out of the endzone is going to cost us at some point and I cringe every time I see it.

The field was wet, sloppy play all around. Given a week of practice, Lefty should do better. But I don't think it is fair to say Haley doesn't have confidence in him. Lefty did complete some important 3rd down passes, to include the 2nd down pass for 9 yards that our RB's couldn't seem to pick up the first down on.

Agree with just about all of your obs as usual WWW, though I would pick out these for comment:
Had not thought about Dwyer moving ahead of Redman, though I found them both pretty indistinguishable to be honest. Dwyer perhaps is getting more of a psuh at the second level, but in truth our run game depends on the o-line, pure and simple.

I was pleased to see Timmons playing up to the standard we've been expecting him to be at. What the D lacked most of last night was a big playmaker - in the end, Timmons provided them with one.

The Wallace miss on the deep ball looked like an overthrow to me. But I didn't get much look at the replays.

Well his ankle cost us frisco and Denver last year. So if he is hurt go with the next guy. I think if Batch starts frisco last year, we win that game
