Guy is hurt all the time or suspended. Has missed playing time in each of the last three seasons. Time to let him walk, just think of the cap savings. Plus this will free up the money to sign Wallace and a good safety.

    The years were 1983-2003.

Mark Malone, Bubby Brister, Neil O'Donnell, Steve Quinn, Kordell Stewart, Kent Graham, Tommy Maddox all got under center. What was wasted was years of great defenses.

Can you please explain why Ben should be let go again???

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the OP was being sarcastic.
But, yea, those DECADES were brutal.

it's time to find someone that can step up and grow behind ben , lefty and charlie are serviceable for a week or two but they are too fragile to play a couple of months if ben is injuried

Aye, I'm pretty sure I detected sarcasm there.

On a related note, I found myself last night thinking about how much we were missing Troy in the backfield. Not, this time, from bad play by the safeties, but more because of that lack of "X factor" in the defensive scheme.

How many teams have a chance to win anything if their starter goes down? Let's look at the current AFC playoff teams:

Houston - TJ Yates, yep we saw how that worked last year.
Baltimore - Tyrod Taylor who has thrown the ball a total of 5 times in his NFL Career
New England - Ryan Mallett, we still have no idea what he is going to be in the NFL
Denver - Caleb Hanie, been in the league 5 years and played in 10 games throwing the ball about 120 times
Indianapolis - Drew Stanton, been in the league 6 years but only played 12 games and had 9 INTs, almost double his 5 TD passes

The reality is this, your starter is a difference maker. When that guy goes down, don't expect to win consistently. Honestly, I think we are in better position with the vets we have than ANY of the teams above us.

    In the NFC:

    Atlanta - Luke McCown
Chicago - Jason Campell, we saw how well that went on Sunday night
San Francisco - Colin Kaepernick, again he led the 49ers to a tie on Sunday
    Giants - David Carr
    Green Bay - Graham Harrell
    Seattle - Matt Flynn

It is a bad place to be in, but this team is going to be without Ben for a while. I can accept that. Just be sure to remind the Ravens fans who gloat about beating us of this when you have a chance.

Yep, its time to cut or losses, the guy is a proven winner, the toughest dude among any QB I've ever seen, he has won us two Superbowl titles and continues to break team records...............Lets get rid of this guy now and rebuild. I think Vick will be available very soon.

I figured I'd try and fit in a little better around here. With all the Troy, Woodley, Mendy, Harrison are washed up injury proned players that we need to be cut and save the money to sign new players posts I thought this would be right in line with that foolish thinking. Sounds about right doesn't it?

Wonder how may Ravens' fans talk about wasted defenses with Grbac, Boller, McNair, Flacco, etc. Remember, they were the last team to cut a superbowl winning QB (until the Colts that is, but the jury is still out on them)
