Iowa has a few players besides linderbaum they may have an interest in.

riley moss was the big 10 defensive back of the year winner.
dane belton safety who has spent a lot of time playing linebacker has 5 int's and 7 pd's this year.
jack campbell is a 6'5" tackling machine linebacker.

Still Linderbaum is their highest rated prospect., if they're making that many trips to watch Iowa, I'm sure it's to see him

well sure but they got 7 rounds to fill. they dont just scout first round prospects. its kind of difficult to watch multiple guys in one go around. they can watch players on game film all they want and from different angles . they go to see them in person to get a better feel for game speed which is deceiving on film. if you watch a car race on TV it doesnt do justice to how fast they are actually going .

Imagine…. Drafting a center to play center! Wouldn’t that be a neat idea!

I still think Green gets another shot. Otherwise they would have replaced Him some time during the year. Not saying it's a good idea, but I would put some cash on it.....unless He gets injured

Sadly I agree that the powers that be will give him 1-2 more years at center, no matter what. His college film at guard was mixed, and showed some potential. It wouldn’t be a failed pick if he ended up being an adequate starting guard, so maybe there’s a chance that they’ll consider a position change.

Don't you think Linderbaum is a bit light for the position? Seems like a 290 pound center could be pushed around in the middle? I'm not expert and haven't seen him play so I guess I'll rely on his ranking as the best center in college football but it would seem he needs to put on some weight no?

in my personal experience i have found it rather effortless to gain weight......much easier than losing it. the guy is also a wrestler so he knows all about leverage.

If that is the case and, it very well may be, Kenyon Green from Texas A&M would be a stellar option. Who is to say that Trai Turner returns? He is only on a one year deal and there is no guarantee his future is secure here.

I say acquire a veteran OL in FA then target either Linderbaum or Green. Ideally Linderbaum for me but Green is still a worthy candidate all the same.

do you think chuks deserves a contract ? i would be totally fine with linderbaum or green being the pick but given the cost of free agent tackles and the odds of our tackles being marginally better next season, i think if cross or ekowamu is there it just makes more sense to take a tackle. although i dont think either will be if they pick outside the top 15.
im thinkin dan moore might be better on the right. he cant handle speed rushers.

He can probably gain 10-15 pounds for the NFL.

As usual, their mediocrity is screwing them out of a good draft pick.

“Good pick” is only dependent on who you select. Draft position doesn’t determine whether or not the player will be good. TJ Watt was pick 30. Heyward was 31. We are just fine where we are, and there will be plenty of players that will go on to have excellent nfl careers available there, we just have to pick the right guy.

in 2017 the browns had pick 1,25 and 29. They came away with Garrett, Peppers, and Njoku. They could’ve had TJ Watt and Buddha Baker… with picks 25 and 29. Two all pros in the same draft if they just picked the right guy. However they’re the browns, so they didn’t haha

thats true but i think every GM would agree that they would prefer more options on the board to pick from.

He's a bit tall and lighter than you'd think for that size.
