did people see the Ravens fake a field goal and ran up the score on the Raiders yesturday? The score was 41-17 and they decided to fake a field goal. I remember they did it to us to last year with a 2 point conversion with the game well out of hand. I hope what goes around comes around for the Ravens and Harbaugh.

Not only am I fine with that, but I wish we would have a little bit of that in us sometimes. We can't put teams away. When we get big leads, we take our foot off the gas and let the team back in the game, instead of running up the score and putting the game away.

I hope we score 50 points tonight and don't let off at all.

Im all for putting teams away but what Harbaugh did was different. He is as classless as they come and moves like this is why he can't ever win big games in the playoffs. He puts too much stock on beating us in week 1 or putting up 55 on the Raiders

Moves like that remind me of Bill Belichek. He does everything in his power to score as many points as possible, including going for it on 4th down when up by 30+, and last time I checked, Belichek has been very successful in the playoffs.

This particular move has no bearing on whether the Ravens will or won't be successful in the playoffs, and it sure as hell has no bearing on their past losses. Lets face it, if not for Lee Evans dropping a pass and Billy Cundiff missing a chip shot, the Ravens would have went on to the Superbowl last year.

Well Bellichick won in the playoffs by cheating, and yeah I know a particular play like that or one game shouldn't affect how the Ravens play in the playoffs, but remember Harbaugh getting a gatorade bath after beating us in week 1. I just think he is a regular season winner and a playoff loser.

And yeah they shouldve went last year but they didn't...

Bill Belichek won in the playoffs because he's a great coach, one of the best ever. He's had a ton of long term success in the playoffs, not just that one season.

Belichek is a great coach? Has he won a Super Bowl after the spygate was discovered? I truely believe that at least 2 of the 3 super bowls he won was because of the help of spygate. He definitely would not have beaten the Rams (first SB) without spygate.

Good post! Living here in the Baltimore/ Washington area I have really come to despise all of the Hairballs. (Jim, Jim, and Pop) They do this kind of BS all of the time throughout game after game. What is even worse than this, is after we beat them they never admit the better team won... It is always the refs fault or didn't lose to them, we beat ourselves. I have never seen either Hairball admit they were beaten by a better team and I just hate their arrogance. (FYI, I also hated Brian Billick as I thought he was extremely arrogant! I like him now as a commentator.)

I actually don't mind people "running up the score" either. If you're a pro team you should be able to stop people. Also I agree that Belichik is the best coach in the NFL and it's not even close. But also let's not act like the Raiders are some classy organization that deserves better treatment. Actually, for me, I can't think of a BETTER team to run the score up on. I know a lot of people would disagree with us about this but just because I don't see a big deal in this doesn't mean that I don't think the Ravens are classless either. I'm sure you agree on that too.

after seeing it on "c'mon man" just now, with the fact that the oakland DB was talking crap to boldin when it was 41-17, the fact that they ran that fake FG and converted on the very next play, I find hilarious....

As do I. If you're losing by 20+ points and you want to start running your mouth, you deserve to have a fake FG run on your team. That's what happens when you run your mouth and can't back it up. Don't like it? Feel free to stop the play.

I'm okay with going for it on 4th down. What do you want him to do? Kick a field goal? The onus is on the other team to stop them. While the same could be said for the Raiders, the onus was on them to stop them. The Raven are classless.

I believe Johnny Boy lives in the "now" and is not so much concerned with the future...i.e. get while the getting's good. It's fun when you are up 24 points at home to run a fake FG to run up the score on a conference opponent, or to run a fake extra point on a division oppenent and heated rival when you are trouncing them.
I admit I cannot separate my bias on this subject. The fact that the Ravens did it to us and the Raiders makes me sick, but when I default to my standard position, "would my team (the Steelers) do this"... i get even more frustrated....because rarely are we ever even in a position to even do so...so I have no basis.
Boy do I wish that my team would be up 24 points on an inferior team at home to even put us in that position. I thought (against my better judgment) that tonight would be that night, but alas it was not...we needed OT to beat the worst team in the league at home.
That being said...I hope if we ever find ourselves in a position to do the same to the Ravens...we do it. Karma be damned.

The Ravens are classless and this was by definition a classless move. I hear ya saying "stop them then" but the truth of the matter is that this isnt pee wee football, daddy isnt on the sideline saying "never give up, it aint over till its over" , these are grown men and they know the deal and when your losing by 24 points late in the 3rd or 4th qtr, you have zero chance of coming back. The Ravens fake only worked because the Raiders were "going through the motion" at that point. Harbaugh is a clown and the biggest whiner in the NFL. Karma is a B*t**, and the win in November never feels as good as the one in February. I hope they never get a chance to experience that due to their lack of respect for the game and their opponent.

I come from the school of football where if you don't like it. Stop it.

But I say why go into your bag of tricks, when they really aren't needed.

It's one area the Ravens are better than the Steelers too, "The fake field goal department."

The goal is to win. You do that by putting up more points than the opponent. The Ravens are better at that than the Steelers. They put their foot on their opponents neck and take hope away. The reason the Steelers have so many problems with teams they should beat is because they do not dominate competition that they should be able to dominate. Once a team has hope and sees a chance to win, then they will find a way. Thus, Steelers sustained losses to Oakland and Tennessee... And had to battle through OT to defeat Kansas City.

The offense needs to step it up. Ben said 30 points. Put them on the board.

I would love to see our squad do that. Put your foot on the other teams neck and stop the dogsh!t out of them. No mercy. I think Harbaugh is a douche, but not for that.
