During end if season exit interviews coach Tomlin and Ben have a heart to heart and Tomlin tells Ben that he would be an ideal candidate to take his job and welcomes Ben to join the Steelers Coaching staff to ultimately be his replacement once his tenure is done which is after this current contract expires.Tomlin also tells Ben theres no better person for the job because he Bleeds Black and Gold and he will preserve the Steelers legacy!! What are your thoughts?:dancing::applaud:

Geez. I just don't know if Ben working a 40 hour work week would be able to keep up to other coaches.

Ben has never put in the same amount of hours that guys like Manning and Brady have. He's not exactly a student of the game.
Plus if you've watched Ben play his whole career, his strength is his natural ability. Whereas a guy like Manning, his strength is more mental. Ben has gotten by on raw ability. That won't carry over into coaching.

Ben wouldn't make a good coach

Ben is too old to become the next Steelers head coach. He’s certainly not going to become an offensive coach because of who Steelers have at QB.
If he coaches, it will be with his kids.

I actually can’t think of a guy less cut out to be an NFL coach than Ben Roethlisberger.

How many signature great HOF QBs are current NFL coaches?

    I'll wait....

Truth be told there even very little ex-NFL players that are current NFL Head coaches across all positions.

I'd like to hear Ben get into the Steelers Radio Booth and talk. He's a good listen media wise and has good knowledge. But who knows maybe a big network may want him to come talk. Maybe he's just gonna skip all that crap and just enjoy his time and family.

Steelers Radio Broadcast needs a little bit of a youth movement. Hillgrove is in his 80's, and I like Wolf, but he's no spring chicken either and he really just took over the color because of Tunch getting sick.

I could see Ben get into broadcasting. Coaching... not so much. Being an NFL head coach/coordinator is a 24/7/365 job. Is it any wonder why Bill Cowher and Jimmy Johnson never took up coaching again?

Ben could be, maybe, a decent scout where he could canvass the MAC and possibly Big 10. Depends on how involved that gets. JMO>

I wonder if he would be as analytical as someone like Romo is. As much as I hate the girls and anything that ever came from them, Romo is as good as anyone I've seen on TV. Can't believe I even said that. JMO>

Ben’s reputation is too tainted for any respectable studio or marketing firm to touch him

He might be able to be a side kick to Mark Madden. Between the two of them they might be able to come up with a good thought?

Ben reminds me of Brett Favre in the way he was a complete ass to fellow QBs on his team.

You have never heard of Favre or Ben being mentioned as Mentors in the league.

There's exceptions to every rule, but traditionally backup players become the coaches. Stud players tend to hit the broadcast booth or go golfing. I could see Mason Rudolf being the HC of Oklahoma State in 10 years. As for Ben, I imagine his football life being pretty much over. Maybe he jumps in the booth, maybe he doesn't.

I'll go you one better, Wayne Gretzky is with out a doubt one of the most talented and gifted hockey players to ever play hockey but he sucked as a coach, he sucked hard. So I'm in total agreement sometimes great players make bad coaches.

A guy like Ray Lewis(accused of murder)wasn't??? I also guess the balls in the face incident by Peyton M....has just been entirely forgotten by everyone, and that was not a He said She said.
I'm not saying He will. I'm just saying I see Vick(dog killer) on TV daily. Though for some reason Ben can't be forgotten while others S. Sharpe(accused of Sexual Assault) never is brought up.
    What's the difference here???
