I agree with this. He is a north south running back with power. He needs play calling and line talent enough to take advantage of his strengths. I also believe he has hit the wall this year. He can be an excellent back if used properly. He seems not to have great vision and I seldom see him as runner with break away speed who can take it to the house on any given play.

Is this comparable to number of games played? Not sure how many games Franco played in his rookie season for example.

Agree. He is / will be a great back for us no doubt. He wouldn't have hit a rookie wall this year if he didn't hit a wall every time he gets the ball. I look forward to watching him for a few more years at least, hopefully. JMO>

How many rushing attempts does he have? Did we run him until the wheels fell off?

That's the Tomlin MO. Run the wheels off of him, use him up.

Franco played all 14 games, but had far fewer carries (averaged 5.2 or thereabouts). Le'veon played in 13, but had more carries than Nagee has.

Bell wasn't good as a rookie.

GB wouldn't draft him. The next team that took a RB was JAX.

Yeah so given that I think Najee dodged a bullet. Look at what the Jets did to Bell's career.

Najee needs to improve his technique when taking on tacklers. He’s brought down too easily too many times.

That said he is a rookie playing behind a young OL in their first season together and with one of the worst passing attacks in the league. He’s done fine considering

OLINE SUCKS. Walter Payton, Gayle Sayers, OJ and whoever you want to list could not run behind this POS. Canada sucks

Maybe I'm in the minority and the results would not change, but why cant he realize being slow to the hole is a recipe for disaster. and waiting for blocks that will not happen this year is bad. I do not want Benny Snell to get more carries because benny snell football is a sham, but he had 1 carry yesterday where he ran hard as soon as he got the ball, lowered his head, and picked up like 7 yards. I feel like if Harris just ran to the hole maybe of his 0 yard runs would be 2-5 yard gains. Does he think he's going to hit a homerun every handoff? Also the WR motions which I don't know who they think they are faking look so clunky and bad compared to other teams who actually are good at that type of run.

With Bell being a 2nd round pick, he got a mulligan for his rookie year. Expectations will be higher for Harris.

Najee was a wasted pick because by the time we could be good in 3/4 years he will be used up.

You think because of last night, being in GB or Buffalo right now isn't better than being in Pittsburgh? No one is denying his talent, it's a question if he'll be successful by the time the Steelers are championship caliber again.

BTW, Tennessee is proof that a team can replace a great running back if the rest of the roster is solid. The best RB in football is Henry, but Tennessee is about to lock up the 1 seed in the AFC playing half the season without him. Foreman is nowhere near Henry, and it's not even close.

Henry was drafted by a team that went 2-14 and 3-13 the previous years. It took him three years to have his first 1000 yd season. The Titans built an offense around him. They found a game manager qb who doesn't turn the ball over, drafted and signed o-linemen, and damned, at 4 years he was Derrick Henry, stud running back.

And yes, there are 12 teams that he would have been better off at currently. Next week, that number will either be 14 or 0. But let's not kid ourselves, Henry didn't set the league on fire his first three years.

Looks like Harris outplayed Bell when comparing their rookie seasons. And Bell had a much better OL.

I'll say this about Najee...I was wrong! While I never doubted his effort, I have been somewhat critical of him this season and said that he didn't look like the most intuitive running back, seemed to miss his holes, hesitated too much behind the line and may not have as much tread left on the tires because of all of the carries he had in college. But...last night dispelled most all of those concerns for me. The line actually opened up a few holes and was getting a great push and that made all of the difference. Both he and the line had their best game of the season!
