I know its early, but need some help. If we finish with same record as ravens they win division right? Someone was talking about division record but thats not the first tie-breaker is it? I think we can win out and the ravens looked horrible yesterday so who knows what they do. the niners will be tough out there but we play pretty good on monday night so that is winable. I think we still have shot at one seed although houston owns the tie-breaker with us right? They are the one team I dont want to see in the playoffs. We kinda gave that game away but they are playing well.

Yes. Ravens have the tie-breaker over us by virtue of head-to-head.

There could also be a 3way tie, and rules for tiebreaking are different.

If the bengals beat the ratbirds twice, and somehow we all finish with the same record it would apply.

Anyway, we can still win all our games and wait a little bit. The ratbirds are gonna drop 1 or 2 more hopefully

True. But I'm speaking of head to head. A 3 way tie is fairly rare. And if memory serves, we got the short end of that once, so I'd rather we win out from here. :D

I find it hard to believe that at 12-4 we don't make the playoffs with a wildcard at least. There are two wildcards and right now, they would both come from the AFC North. The Jets, Bills, and Titans already have 4 losses, they will all lose at least 1 more game. Jets play Bills and Bills play Titans. Jets also play San Diego and Giants. Titans have Bucs, Saints, and Texans.

At this point, if the Steelers win out, they should get the division and number 1 seed. Of course, they need the Rats to lose 1 more. Perhaps a split with Bengals and a loss to the 49ers and a desparate Chargers team puts Balitmore out of the playoffs (that would do my heart some good).

As far as the 3 way tie. Say Raven's split with Bengals. Bengals beat Steelers. All three end up with 12-4 records. This would mean that the Steelers have all 4 of their losses in the conference, whereas the Bengals lost to 49ers and Ravens lost to Seahawks. The next tiebreaker would then go between the Rats and Bengals, so Steelers best hope for a division would be to win 1 more game than the Ravens.

If you are referring to my post, I'm not saying we'll be 12-4. I'm saying that I expect the Steelers to be at least 12-4, and therefore, I expect them to make the playoffs. I too am hoping for a 13-3 record, but their biggest opponent is going to be themselves. They haven't shown 60 minutes of football yet and until they do so, it's hard for me to say I definitely think they'll win out.

At 12-4 we'll be in for sure. Mathematically, no way besides the division winners there are 3 teams at 12-4.

    And... we'll be 13-3! :yeehaw:
