Mason flopped this year against the worst team in the league, so I look for him to also be the odd man out on the starting QB job. And Canada's offense his doing more harm than good this year.

Watson would be my first choice.
Get Denver to overpay for Rodgers and they may be able to pickup Bridgewater.

If they do decide to scrap the entire offense their new O.C. may want to bring in his own project in Trubisky, or Darnold.

It will also take a new OC to make a first-round pick have a chance here of succeeding. Hint sign Ken Dorsey to be the new O.C. and tell Tomlin to stay out of his office.

The Rooney's wouldn't touch Watson with a ten foot pole. Nor should they with all his troubles.

We’ve seen what it’s like without Haden and it’s not pretty

Agreed. Please, no Cousins. Purely a stats guy who has one playoff win in his career.

Then, what are you going to do with all the time you save by not watching the last games? Boycott?

My suggestion would be to keep watching, but drink heavily. Keep loose items away from reach range and no sharp objects in the room. Nerf balls are great but even they can knock things over with enough force applied (ie. Ben gets a pick 6, or watching a RB score on a long run up the gut and #55 15 yards in trail at 50% go).

Dan Moore Jr. Dobson, Green, Turner, Chuks,
    Banner, Finney, Leglue,

I would replace all but Dobson. Not that they can't be on the team, just not starting.

DJ, Claypool, Ray Ray, Washington, JuJu, Miller.

DJ, Claypool and Ray Ray stays but the rest would be gone. Ray Ray is only holding on if we can't find another PR/KR.

I would target a Free Agent and draft one of the Alabama's receivers or any receiver that can stretch the field.

    Ben, Mason, Haskins

Ben's out, Mason and Haskins would be backups again. Find a Free agent.

    Muth, Rader, Gentry

Nothing I would add to these guys.

    Harris, Snell, Ballage and McFarland

I'm cleaning house with this group. Harris will be the only one I keep

Tuitt, Heyward, Alaula, Adams, Loudermilk, Mondeaux, Wormley

Drafting a high pick for this group. Heyward, Adams, Loudermilk and Wormley would be all i'm keeping. Tuitt if he's mentally ready.

Shobert, Bush, Spillane, Allen, Gilbert, Johnson

I'm finding two new starters. Either draft or free agency

    Watt, Highsmith, Charlton, Tuszka,

I'm finding another mid-round pick here. I may keep Charlton. Of course Watt and Highsmith are my starters but I'm finding someone to push Highsmith

Witherspoon, Haden, Layne, Maulet, Sutton, Pierre

I'm drafting or signing a free agent. Leaning more free agent since we can't develop CBs

    Edmunds, Killbrew, Fitzpatrick, Norwood

We can't fix all areas so I'm rolling with this group. Maybe a low-level draft pick or free agent.

Priority goes to the trenches. With or without Tuitt, we need some serious upgrades on the DL
And also the offensive line with a much needed veteran free agent that still has some juice left.

Dotson has had a down year, and the coaching staff wasn't happy with him for some undisclosed reason coming into camp.

I really don't feel good about him either.

I honestly expect the team to be better next year.

If you look at the roster and the cap realistically, the team was designed to be blown up this season and essentially it was. The Steelers extended their window as long as possible, but this was the year it was supposed to end. There was lots of dead cap space, they couldn't afford to keep high-priced veterans and they wound up starting 5 rookies, which is unheard of for the Steelers.

It's been a painful year, but those rookies should be better next year. The Steelers will also have a decent chunk of cap space to address some of (but not all) of their holes. They should have better backups to step in for injured players. And they should have their highest first round pick in years. I don't think they'll be an instant playoff contender, but they should improve.

I know the season is over. I will still watch the games just like I did when the steelers were out of the playoffs any number of years. I even go to a couple Pirate games a year because I like baseball. A fan can know his team is done but still will watch and support his/her team. That's sports

We will have Alualu back next year. Maybe Tuitt as well depending on what's going on with that issue. That will make the defense better right there. We need a very good ILB. Bush is a bust and needs to go away. He's a non factor. Need a good stong safety. We need offensive line help. SO yeah we need a TON of help next year. But hey, maybe we can pick up a couple draft picks somewhere and get better. Yeah I'm an optimist

How bad will they be next year?

Well we have a 13th rank QB this year

we have a 6 rank running back this year

and a 9th ranked wide receiver this year

we have the sack leader and he barely plays a full game

I think we all can agree the online needs to be better

the run stopping needs to be better and with even a competent defense we're probably winning the AFC North right now

    The sky is not falling

why worry now? we have no clue what the actual roster will look like. technically we are only 1 1/2 games out of 1st place in the division..... let's not act like we're having a detroit season.

To me, that’s the biggest surprise of this season, is how bad the defense is.

It is when we're playing historically bad like we do in the 1st half of games lately. Stopping the run could require blowing up most of the defense to get the right players in the right positions. Not saying sky is falling, just that it's a very low overcast right now. JMO>

    91 and 94 would help a lot

    Then replace the ILBs

and I bet they get back up to top 15 against the run. Which honestly if they were this year.. we are probably first in the afcn

Honestly though if You go back , and look....in the last 6 years...if a team could stay close enough in score 2 stay at the run ....We have not really been able 2 stop it.
Nowhere 2 the problem We have today , but still never been that good at stopping the run in a while.
