Why can't this team play a full 4 quarters?

We're not going to win many games where we only start playing in the 2nd half....

 

The better question is who are the idiots out there saying Tomlin can't make 2nd half adjustments?

 

This has been a legitimate problem since the start of last season. Nearly every game played but a handful has been Jekyll and Hyde. Off the top of my head 3 games wasn't that and it was one Bengals game last year and the two Bengals games this year. I could be missing a game or two, but nearly every game has been a great half mixed with a terrible half.

 

It’s hard to say, Ben never has been a quick starter.

Tonight, on D, it at least seems to me that our game plan was dog doo doo, and it took us time to make adjustments. We weren’t properly prepared.

 

1992 Steelers were the same way. First year Bill Cowher was coach.

 

I think Canada needs to go. It looks like their running plays from Canada and they SUCK and extremely predictable. Then they come out abort the repeatability with the play calling and start throwing it then run it when the other team isn’t sitting on the run. It’s Ben obviously as well but he shows he can still play enough to win some games. That said this season can’t be over fast enough. This team will not go anywhere. I also put some of this on Tomlin like the Cincinnati game because they just weren’t ready to play. The Vikings looked like world beaters on both sides of the line. Anyway their not going to get rid of Canada or Ben or sure up both side of the line so it’s going to be this the rest of the season.

 

Hard for the D to be good when the offense goes 3 and out every play.

that would be 2 and 3/4 qtr's of no adjustments. did he adjust that defense that again once we got close let the other team drive the field at will.

I think it is the fact that they are not good enough in the trenches and they don't excel in any area except pass rush but only when healthy. They cannot run the ball effectively nor stop the run.

 

If we were playing NE Belecheat would run it 56 times or he would cross us up with 35 runs in the first half and 28 crossing routes in the second half.

 

It's like this team needs to dip a toe in first ,then the foot, then the ect.,ect. You guys get it. Maybe they should do the opposite ..Seriously ,do the 4th quarter game plan in the first . It's like George Costanza said if what you have been doing all along isn't working then the opposite of that has to work.

 

I think he is talking about how we never played a full 60 minutes. Cowher use to say we need 60 minute men. We use to start slow then kick some ass.

 

They can't play 4 quarters because they just aren't a very good football team...

I mean the D and O lines were getting knocked on their asses. The best game plan in the world doesn’t overcome poor execution.

Last season? This has been a problem the better part of a decade.

 

I don't know how huge it was, but pulling Watt out of the game turned out to be just what the Defense needed in the 2nd half.
