Im sure this has been asked before on here but I always wondered if anyone else on this site has game day rituals or superstitions like I do? I ask because this Sunday I made a believer out of my buddy.

We were going to buffalo wild wings to watch the game (which is already weird for me because I never watch the game at bars or restaurants, usually always at my house unless I am at the game). He was wearing his Ward jersey, and he told me to wear one of mine... Now I have had this thing that I can not wear steeler stuff on game day or we lose. Not even joking about that, I have so much steeler apparel its not even funny, but honestly I can't wear it on game day UNLESS I AM AT THE GAME (thats the only exception)! At the game it seems to cancel the curse out (I know that sounds crazy but honestly I have been to over 30 steeler games in my life time and have never been to a losing game...knock on wood. Oh and i am 25 yrs old). But back to the story he asked me to wear my jersey and I told him about my beliefs and the curse and he just laughed at me. I contemplated it and reluctantly said well we have lost when I dont wear anything still, so maybe I'll try wearing my Miller jersey today. I put on my jersey and a bunch of us went to buffalo wild wings to eat and watch the game. As we all know how the 1st 3 quarters went, we had very bad calls against us, Ben had thrown a bad pick, and we were down 20-10 going into the 4th. I was beyond worried so I told them it's because of my jersey. I took my jersey off at the beginning of the 4th quarter and boom we come back to win. My friend was just in awe and laughing at me cuz I insisted it was because of my jersey. But the best part was, our waitress came up to me after we scored the go ahead TD, and she said "Did you happen to notice that we started playing better when you took your jersey off?" I said jokingly "Yep, and you're welcome." But even my buddy had said that he believes me now about the steeler gear on game day! He said I should be on the bud light commercial that says "Its only crazy if it doesn't work"

But do any of you have any superstitions like this?

I have too many to list and if they're not all complied with in specific order we tend to lose. Playoffs include even more.

I honestly believe I need therapy.

I have to drink coffee out of a Steelers cup ONLY on days we actually play a game. This year, that would be Sun., Mon. and Thurs. I only wear my Ben jersey on game day along with my lucky hat and lucky TT but I can't put them on until 5 minutes before the game and I only put my flag out on game days. Other than that, I'm completely normal! :goofy:

There has been a number of times where I've muted the sound in games and watched it in silence, and good things have happened.

I have a good friend who I won't allow to watch Steelers games with me since he came over to watch the 1994 AFC championship game loss to San Diego. 18 years later, still banned.

Must watch the game at my house. lol the anxiety in my Steeler household when we lose on a last second fg, plus It's not safe to be out in public when we're losing on last second field goals. Ready to throw something sometimes.
Also do not wear any Steelers gear on gameday exception is a Roethlisberger jersey. As a few years ago I had grown out of my Ben jersey and was given a Troy one as a gift. Evertime I've worn the Troy jersey we lose or he gets injured.
Also this one is fairly new but on gameday I always shower before the game. So far we are 3-0 in this situation.
I think I may be crazy plus the fact that I'm still only 17.

I have one really good friend that is as diehard of a Steeler fan as me.
Because we don`t live near each other, we usually don`t watch the games together.
After watching 3 different games together over the last 5 years or so, and the Steelers lost each one, we agreed not to get together to watch the games, anymore... We still txt or call each other during the games... but we will NOT take the chance of jinxing our team, by watching the games together, again!
Also, I think I need to stop wearing my Steeler hat on gamedays.
I always have, but for different reasons, I just didn`t have it on during the last 2 games, when we looked better than we have all season...
I think I will abstain from the hat, the rest of this year...
Also, in an earlier thread, about "Take your responsibility for our losses", which had a similar theme as this, I vowed to go back to drinking only Yuengling on Game days... I think we have only lost one since then, so I will continue...
Oh, the sacrifices a Steeler fan must make for their team... :lolol:

My main superstition, NEVER let my Steeler's beer glass go empty during the game.

May seem obvious, but, had to pause the game, during critical moments, when I've come dangerously close.

So I always wondered, since there are obviously fans of both teams doing a lot of the things all of you are mentioning, how is it determined who wins out. If you had 42,736 superstitious Steelers fans and 42,735 superstitious Giants fans for a game, would the Steelers win for having that one more fan doing the superstitious routine? Or is it based on how well each fan base overall is strictly following their routines? Is it qualitative or quantitative?

Usually I talk on the phone with my best friend who is a Steeler fan also. My only superstition is I have to wear a Steeler jersey on gameday. Not a sweatshirt, polo etc. And I am 99.9% home for the game so I don't have to bother with bars etc. Much easier to be myself and *****, swear etc. at home.

That being said if they do lose with one of the 5 jersey's I own that one goes into the rotation to be worn during the week and not worn again until the others have a loss... Some jerseys only see one game a year based on how hot the Steelers get. :)

And yes I am completely normal! NOT... :yeehaw:

I have nothing to add to this thread as I have not read any of it.

Just wanted to share something I find amusing at times. I have a habit of glancing over words when I read things and what my mind thinks is on the screen/paper is often comical.

So this thread just looked like 'Gay Paranoia and...'
    I was like whaaa...oh
