New to the board and the east

    Hey everyone....I'm new to the board and will be moving to New England (Mass/RI) in a couple weeks. I've been lurking on here for about a month and only posted a few times on the old board.

    Does anyone know what type of response I'll get being a Steelers fan in NE? Born and raised in Montana, moved to Utah, then Seattle (months after the Super Bowl :D), Portland, and Las Vegas. Steelers fans everywhere I've moved.

    My kids are all Steeler fans....until they start losing and they can't be in the same room as dad because I start getting, let say upset!!

    If not this year planning a drive to the Burgh to see a game with at least my two sons (12 & 7)

    Let me know what to expect living in the East...

    Honestly, I don't think the NE fans will really notice. It's not the same kind of rivalry as Pitt-Cleve or Pitt-Baltimore. I think you'll easily find a contingent of Steelers Nation in Boston. Just follow the Terrible Towels!

    I have quite a few ties to area through work and family. Pats fans hate the Steelers with a passion. And generally speaking, people up there are cranky amd crotchety. You are in for a real treat... NOT! Good luck with your move, but don't expect any love or even mutual respect from the cheaters fans up there.

    Welcome to the board. My mother's side of the family lives in RI and I lived there myself for a few years as a kid. I can tell you from experience that just about everyone you run into is a 'Pats' fan, and many of them make it a point to let a Steeluhs fan know it. I've never ran into anyone who wasn't good natured about it though, so I'm sure you'll be ok. Wear your Steelers colors with pride...they're only jealous because they had to cheat to get their latest rings. :towel:

    Welcome. I would have to guess that your experience will depend on what part of NE you are moving to. If you are in the City of Boston, probably a less cordial group of fans. If you are on the coast or well outside of the city you shouldn't have any problems besides typical smack talk.
