Granted this team seems to play to the level of competition regardless of if that is up or down, but as I look at the remainder of the schedule for the reg season, I really only see 2 potential losses left (@ ravens, @ cowboys) and those are far from automatic L's. With 5 of the last 8 at Heinz I like this team's chances to finish 11-5 at worst (assuming Ben isn't injured at some point).

I feel ALOT better about the Ravens games than I did a month ago!! I think we have a great chance to sweep them!

I feel the same way, not marking it as a win already but its very likely to happen, I think!

I have always looked at our seasons like this. Win your home games. Then figure out how many road games you can win. That gives you the record to project to.

Where I sit right now it is a struggle for me to guess where we will end up. First, I think the game yesterday showed that we can win any game, road or home. Second, I think we can lose any game on the road (see Tenn). So where does that leave me. I had us at 12-4 for the year at the start.

    Home Games Left:

Kansas City - If we lose this game with Haley going home, we should be shot. They are LITERALLY the worst team in the NFL. They have a very good receiver in Bowe, but no one who can actually get him the ball, and that is with about the same number of sacks as we have given up.

Baltimore - Rivalry game. This game alone could determine the division. IMO, we need a split in order to get the division this year as I still see a couple of potential losses on their radar.

San Diego - While this is a home game, it will be a tough one. San Diego by this time will be fighting for their playoff lives. That being said, I don't see how they can pass Denver. Look how soft THAT Denver schedule is....

Cinn - We shouldn't lose to them. It is possible as they are in the division, but I just don't see it.

Cleveland - Rookie QB. Even with us resting players and their improvement so far this year, we should still be able to beat them at home as they will have NOTHING to play for at this point.

    AWAY Games:

At Cleveland - While they are improved, if we go in focused like we can be a rookie TB and a rookie QB are not beating this defense. Anyone notice how much better we look as we have gone on through the year. These guys are working on D and that makes me proud to be a Steeler fan.

At Baltimore - I wish I could tell you this has W written on it, but I don't see it. They play Oakland at home this week in a game that Palmer will desperately want to win. While I don't see that happening, they will be in a dog fight. Add in trips to Pittsburgh and San Diego (which will pretty much be must win for SD) and you could be looking at a home game against Pittsburgh with 2 losses in a row. They may need the win in order to get back to a tie in the division.

At Dallas - To me, this game comes down to if Dallas thinks they still have a chance at the playoffs or not. If they do, I see this as a loss. If they don't, that team will check out and watch the tight white shorts dance on the sidelines.

So to me I see 12-4 or 11-5. The real kick in the throat though comes down to WHO we have lost to this year and what that might mean for the playoffs.

We play 4 against the AFC West - We are currently 0-2, with games against KC and SD yet. Balt. is 1-0 with Oak., SD, and Denver yet to play.

We play 4 against the NFC East - We are currently 3-0, with Dallas to play yet. They are 1-1 with Washington and Dallas yet to play.

2 Additional - Our additional are the NY Jets and the Tenn. Titans. We are 1-1 against these opponents. They affect our record, but are very unlikely to affect our tie-breaker scenarios. Balt. plays NE and Houston. They are 1-1 also.

So when it comes to tie breakers, assuming we split with them, we are 3-2 with 3 games yet to play against like opponents not in division. They are 2-1 with 5 games yet to play. Of those though only San Diego and Washington are on the road, that does not work in our favor.

It will be interesting to see if the Cowboys implode at that point, as they've had a number of close losses and seem to be out of it in the very tough NFC. There is also a lot of talk now that Jones will want Sean Payton to coach for them next year.

    Slow down.

I want to see a few more wins before Im comfortable with that bravado.

Nice run the last 3 weeks and a very nice win this weekend. But I need to see them dominate KC and beat the Ravens at home. If they can do that (and stay reasonably healthy) I'll really like this teams chances to go deep into January.
