There is no way in hell these refs should not be disciplined for these calls either in this game or any game. Refs should not be able to get away with making terrible calls and changing the momentum. Even Collinsworthless knew they were bad calls. its pathetic....

I agree but how do we know they aren't held accountable?

This is why I didn't go along with the outrage of the replacement refs. People forgot how the "real" refs sucked too.

I can't wait til ole Roger sits down with his weekly FINE review team and tries to figure out how much the H2H hit on Cruz's ribs will cost Ryan Clark.

:roflmao: Yeah, nice rib injury on a helmet to helmet hit....

In all seriousness, the refs were a disgrace yesterday - and not just in our game. In the Skins/Panthers game, the official blew the whistle, thinking Deangelo Williams went out of bounds on his way to the endzone so all of the Redskins D stops running....then miraculously, it s a TD??? Uh, the entire D stopped when the whistle blew?? :frustrated:

Also in the Fins/Colts game a ref didn't know his mic was on and said the F word AND took God's name in vein in one sentence ON LIVE TV! It has actually made national news. You think he gets in trouble? Shouldn't the NFL have to pay some kind of fine for violating FCC laws? The broadcaster actually had to apologize on air. If any ref gets held accountable for anything yesterday I say it is only that one. The refs in our game were abysmal. I mean it honestly looked like they were playing for the gnats.

Some of you guys are being a bit dramatic. The game isn't crumbling, the game is bigger than ever. The NFL is a juggernaut that isn't going anywhere.

The refs are ALL held accountable. They're always graded on their performances, and good grades result in playoff games and Superbowls, bad grades can result in termination. They're held accountable, it's just not a public matter.

I doubt anything will happen. The 3 worst calls IMO, the pass interference, the Ryan Clark hit, and the missed Miller clip will all be explained away.

The PI, it's a judgement call. He put his hand on the receiver's arm.

The Clark hit, they will back up the ref by saying that it shouldn't have been called a hit to the head, but it was a penalty for hitting a defenseless receiver.

The Miller non-call, you can see Miller slide to his right at the last moment and glance at the guy trailing him, almost like he was "taking a dive"........

******************* I don't agree with these, I am just saying how the NFL will spin them.......

This. Lot of people don't know that about the refs. I think there is am meeting every Tuesday? Wed? Something like that, where any suspect call is discussed with the ref in question. And yes, the game is not crumbling, I don't like the rule changes but the league is stronger then ever.

I was saying the same thing. I don't believe the regular refs are any better. They're all using human eyes to keep up with the speed of the NFL. That personal foul call on Clark was ridiculous.

How does a ref(s) not call the block in the back that Miller got when ALL EYES are watching them run?

I had a feeling with all the outcry about the quality of the replacements that it would be a bad year for the regular refs. They collectively cost multiple teams a good number of points yesterday (that Skins call of a dead ball was probably my most hated yesterday). I've argued in the past that there is a difference between bad calls that affect the outcome of games and those that do not. Whether we believe the refs should pay for those calls in some way (I have advocated fines for bad calls similar to the fines the players get for their penalties, but as someone pointed out to me, it's a slippery slope). That said, I would hope that perhaps there would be some allowance in future rules for overturning blatently bad calls that lead to the gain or loss of points on the board.

All a big mess, any way you look at it though. Yesterday was definitely full of some awful calls.

If refs start getting fined, they'll never make calls! They'll depend on instant replay for everything.

doubt they even read it but I sent an e-mail (not nasty or anything)to the nfl over the fact we seem to get the short end of the stick on every bad call and its getting old

He flew out, most likely before halftime to get to the Dallas/Atlanta game.

Coincidentally, the calls improved some after that...lol

The refs in the Giants vs Steelers

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but this was the same ref Bill Leavy who did the Seattle vs Pittsburgh Superbowl and received tons of criticism for calls favoring the Steelers. Maybe he was trying to makeup for that with all bad calls yesterday against Pittsburgh to show he doesn't favor the Steelers.

Especially because this isn't even close to the 1st time he's reffed one of our games since that Superbowl. Why would he wait 7 years when he's had numerous chances earlier, including when we played the Seahawks last year?

Refs blow calls all the time, they just usually go unnoticed and don't normally directly result in points. This time they just happened to be egregious.

    This.

If there was truly a conspiracy, the Steelers would have lost.
