Nice to look at the entire front page, and not see a thread titled about our running backs. What I would like to point out, and celebrate more, is that it looks like we may have put together a solid run blocking line, back to smash mouth football. Not getting too excited yet, but when a first, second, and third string running back can have this kind of game, it speaks well of our O-line.....

    Good job gents!!!

the oline has defenitly started to gel, but the rbs should get some credit also. Dwyer and Redman are running hard and not going down on first contact. they have turned some loses into big gains.

the oline has had a lot of critisism over the years, but they deserve a ton of praise right now. Adams looked shacky to start yesterday, but he came around. he also got a lot of help from Heath which to Miller out of the passing game. once Adams gets it totally figured out and frees Heath up in the passing game. this offense will be so much better.

    I just rewatched the game.
The O-line was fabulous again. The Giants have good players on the D-line and they"re going to make some plays. Our O-line more than held their own.
As for Adams getting help from Heath... Yeah he did but so did Max. Heath or a RB was helping the Tackle that JPP lined up against on and off all game. It wasn"t just Adams.
Great effort and as long as the O-line continues to play like they are, it doesn"t matter who"s running the ball.

Don't get me wrong, I give lots of credit to the RB's. But what I am saying, is that it seems no matter who we put back there, they are running over people. The only common factor in all 3 is the O-line. just giving them their due props......

we kept max protect in the game late. we let our wr's do there thing and kept the rest in to give ben time. i'll give haley props for doing that :good: .

alot of the extra yardage running was pure redman and sometimes being helped by our big boys pushing and dragging him.

sure it looks as if they are playing better, but they still need the extra help.

herzlich sp? was known in college as a tackler, but he also had a little larry foote in him. the tackle would be made but several yards downfield. again, props to haley for taking advantage.

will johnson needs a little love in the run game and protection game too. the guy can do alot of things that help us tremendously.

    They ARE playing better mac...

I agree Will Johnson is becoming an excellent FB. I'd like to see him make that catch late in the game though. All in all, he"s becoming a fast favorite of mine.

It doesn't just look like they're playing better, they are playing better. Late in the game the Giants knew we were going to run the ball. We lined up to run it, they lined up to stop the run, and we ran it down their throat for a 1st down to end the game. No gimmicks, no trickery, just straight up run the ball right at them. That would not have happened last year, we would have been stopped in the backfield and probably would have blown the lead late in the 4th.

This is a different team this year, and we're getting better and better every week. The Ravens do not scare me at all, but as weird as this will sound, the Chiefs make me nervous. We're going to end up playing down to their level and it's going to be a close game.

Gilbert was a weak link in the running game,,,,Starks is also a weak link....I have no doubt had Decastro started at LG and Adams at left tackle that our running game would be even better than it has been the last 3 games...Props to Haley for play calling around Starks and he could have done even better calling around Gilbert if he stayed at RT.....

Foster has proved to be a good run blocker and Colon has came on strong so once again props to the Coaching staff for getting these guys going...IF all our guyswhere at full strength I would go with Adams,Colon,Pouncey,Decastro, and Foster with a 2 WR set with Big Doug playing the #2 TE over type of stuff...I would run Redman,Dwyer, and Mendenhall for periods of time and then switch....I would break down the other Team and determine what they do best and plan accordingly......

I would plan to use all 3 RB'S on a equal basis ,but if 1 guy got Hot he would cut into the other 2 RB'S time.....This would be fair and balanced and each RB would know,,,,,,If I play the best I will get more PT ,,but I know I still will be counted on each and every game.....

I agree. A few years ago we were the masters of running time off the clock with a well-executed running game to close out fourth quarters. Yesterday I was cringing and ready for us to go three failed runs and out, and we didn't. It's going to take me awhile to shake the worries developed over the last year or two.
