From the Lions game it was very clear who Rudolph's favorite target was --- Ray Ray McCloud. Given Ben may not even finish this year and is likely to retire next season it looks like Ray Ray is going to be Rudolph's favorite target next season.

How do people feel about this lineup at WR:

    WR1: Ray Ray
    WR2: DJ
    WR3 (slot): Claypool

We lose JuJu and Washington to free agency/trades.

The only way ray ray even sniffs #1 or 2 status is if he's playing for Houston next season

If there was ever any doubt that Benny is a troll. This should be confirmation once and for all.

He was by far the leading WR in our most recent game, and our QB heir-apparent's favorite target.

Ray Ray wouldn't start on Houston's arena league team.

why would they let washington go if he played in college with Mason. That has to be Mason's 2nd favorite guy if we're gonna perpetuate bizzaroworld

It's funny though one of the arguments for not getting Metcalf was because we needed a X wr. I said years ago if the Steelers put the time, effort, and support into Ray Ray as they have DJ. Ray Ray could've easily filled that role. I was proven right this weekend and oh yeah, DJ fumbled the game away right on cue. I'm not sure Ray Ray could be as much of a vertical threat as DJ but he showed this weekend he can do the underneath stuff just as well. That means we could've got Metcalf then Trevon Diggs instead of Claypool. Metcalf, Ray Ray, Trevon Diggs makes a better team than DJ and Claypool.

Benny, do you box by chance? You seem to have taken a few too many blows to the head.

Rudolph isn't guaranteed to be the heir apparent.

What is Seattle's record with Metcalf this season? The Steelers shut him down when they played the Seahawks.

"Ray Ray is definitely a future WR1"

...is what we'll say when we're shopping him for a pick Lol.

Oh wow... they shut him down with Geno Smith. I guess you forgot when he beat us a few years ago.

You're beating your head against a brick wall - some fans will defend every single move the Steelers make.

Could have had DK and Monty Sweat if we hadn't moved up for Bush.

They could've done a lot of things if they didn't move up for Bush. I'm not going to hindsight that pick. We all agree it was needed, he's just been kind of a bust all things considered. They could've still got Metcalf with a trade up with Arizona but they were too busy celebrating the Bush move.

Number of throws is only one stat. Obviously, Mason thinks more highly of Washington because he threw a catchable ball to him for the TD. Mason, not wanting Ray Ray on the team next year, intentionally dribbled the ball to him in the end zone. The plan would have worked too if not for DJ’s fumble. So clearly, the OP is way off target.

If he fell, sure. He didn't show anything in college to justify that kind of draft capital being spent.

3-4 needs a game changing ILB. You won't get it in FA. They tried for a few years after Shazier injury. White and Bush were the only ones that draft. I get why they did it. Bush just ended up not being what we all thought. Plus, his injury and doesn't seem to be all there in the head. You can't hindsight that pick. The mistake was not trading up the few spots for Metcalf. Layne, Snell, Gentry, Sutton Smith, Buggs, Gilbert, Gray all MEH. Losing one of them to get Metcalf was the move. There's a chance we could've still got DJ too. He was considered a huge reach. Maybe could've got him in 5th or 6th round too. That would've changed the next draft. They could've got a CB instead of Claypool and all the terrible Maryland picks. 2018 draft was terrible. 2019 after Bush. 2020 was terrible. They got back on track in 2021.
