I remember a lot of people thinking TE was a luxury pick when we should have been addressing our OL.

so if we could re-draft, would you select TE Pat Freiermuth or C Creed Humphrey?

If Juju didn't get hurt I would say Humphrey. But now that Juju is out we need Muth.

Ask me again in 4 years.

Eight games into his career Devin Bush looked great, today not so much.

Bush did have one pass breakup and and a nice tackle. But he was not worth what we gave up to draft him

Najee and Pat account for 10 of our 16 total touchdowns. Where would our offensive production come from if not for them?

Green is making this a much harder decision than it needs to be. Pat has been great. And he was the one pick of the draft that I loved.

I wanted Creed Humphrey on draft day. I voted for Pat Freiermuth in the poll today. The Steelers have found their TE of the future. I have a feeling they will still be searching for a center in drafts to come.

I was fulling expecting Humphrey to be the pick. When they picked Friermuth, I was surprised because I had no idea he was still on the board, but had Friermuth rated well above Humphrey (well, early second against mid to late second).
Humphrey is currently the number 1 ranked center, according to PFF. That being said, the Steelers made the right choice.

    Real question should be:

    Harris, Freiermuth, Green

    or

    Humphrey, Freiermuth, Sermon

Dont think its as simple as either or. You should also factor in what FA’s were available at both positions and who did we have on the roster. I can’t believe we couldn’t sign any cheap veterans to 1 year deals on the Oline. No team would willingly start either player on the Oline.

also cannot answer the question this season. Give it 3-4 years/.

Sermon has beat out by a lower drafted rookie RB Elijah Mitchell on the 49ers, he was also a healthy scratch, I think the Steelers made the right choice in taking Harris .

Speaking of the rookie Mitchell, he's averaging 1.7 YPC more than Najee. Know why?

Because RBs are fungible, replaceable, and really don't matter.

Tell us that again every time Snell reminds us that he is useless.

    Hey Rollers.

I am remaining patient with Devin Bush or at least trying to. I know he is coming off of the knee injury. HOWEVER, Devin Bush, IMO, is looking more and more like another 1st Round "disappointment" that could very well be on his way to scrap pile with Artie Burns and Jarvis Jones. I will reserve complete judgement and see how he is playing in the final weeks of the regular season. For what we gave up for him, I was expecting much more. Then again, when our Defense was intact last season, before Bush and Dupree went down and out, the collective 11-Man Defensive Unit was playing great and that included Devin Bush. Often it is more about the "sum of the parts" in which last season Bush was doing well along with the other ten guys that he was working with. I am absolutely pulling for him but he needs to be doing more.

Muth, IMO will at some point be a pro bowler.

Problem I see for Muth and Harris is will they have a QB to lead them.

So go find more. I never said any RB will do, but you can find them if you look. Draft one every single year, sign UDFAs and castoffs every summer, sign 30-something vets who can still contribute to a RBBC.

Keeping stiffs like Snell and McFarland and thinking you fix the run game by just drafting the best guy in a particular draft class is a fool's errand. Steelers still rank 28th in yards, 29th in YPC because all the other things the run game depends on are lacking.

We get it. You think they should’ve taken a different approach to fix the OL. Everyone knows how you feel. Any chance you got any new material you can move on to?

And the Steelers offense wouldn't be any better on offense with Humphrey at center, and some mid round RB . I will take Najee and Freiermuth moving forward.

That's your opinion. Green is getting shoved back into the backfield with regularity. That greatly affects the run game, especially in short yardage. Even Najee can't overcome it.

This is Football 101. Can't run without an OL unless you have a guy like Sanders or Payton.
